      I noticed my sweat smelling like ammonia and freaked out. After researching this symptom, it appears that taking too much protein and not enough carbohydrates, the body is forced to turn the protein into energy. Oops. According to the Discovery Fit & Health website, "The amino acids are broken down into various components, parts of which are converted into glucose. Other elements that come out of the process are waste products, and if the body can't handle everything being sent its way, the leftovers are excreted out through the skin. Ammonia is one form that ready-to-go waste can take." I found this product in the GNC shop and have nothing but great results from ingesting it. I add 2 scoops of Carbs to 1 scoop of protein. I have not had any foul odorous incidents since.

            Bought this as an alternative carb supplement for endurance sports after growing frustrated with how poorly other malto-based supplements mixed in my water bottles. This product is great. Absolutely no "clumping" in the bottle and is virtually tasteless. Mixes well in the bottle with other carb/electrolyte powders as well. My only complaint given how much of it I go through is that it is not available in a larger volume container.

              Ive tried several protein powders and didnt notice any gains including GNC whey. After my workout I mix 4 scoops of Cytocarb with GNC whey protein and drink it immediately. What a difference extra carbs make. In 1 1/2 weeks Ive increased my max pushups from 20 to 32. The average man can do 34 pushups so my goal is to go way beyond that. If you are a skinny hard gainer like myself try mixing Cytocarb to your protein shake after your workout.

                First the taste: there really isn't any. It mixes well in water, and as I've been doing lately, in juices like apple and orange. You can't even taste it (by design, if you read the label). It's not great in Gatorade though for some reason - makes it kinda frothy and somewhat unpleasant. If you're including it in your protein shake too you won't even notice it. And that's a good thing.

                As for the effectiveness, it is what is. Complex carbs. You need a lot of them after you workout and this has a lot of them, so it works.

                What puts this product over the top for me is the price. About $10-15 for 16 servings if you take the recommended 4 scoops totaling 53g of carbs. 21 servings if you take 3 scoops/40g like I do. That's good value.

                This is the first PWO complex carb product I've ever purchased and it's nice to know that I probably won't need to go searching around to find a better one.

                  Great post workout meal using 4 scoops of Cytocarb, 12 ounces of water, 20 grams of Pro Performance 100% Whey protein and 3 grams of Pro Performance creatine monohydrate immediately following my workout and 60 minutes after my workout. Through years of trial and error I have finally found the right combination for my post workout meal. It will help you with recovery and build lean muscle mass without any fat and just the right amount of calories. The proof is in the pudding.

                    This stuff is great. If you do not want to get caught up in all the supplementation hype, but just want to make a good post workout shake for weight lifting, you know that the basics you need are easily digestible protein (preferably whey due to the varied amino acids) and some sort of carbohydrate. Then you can throw in the extras like creatine (or not). But every PWO shake needs protein and carbs that can be quickly/easily digested.

                    Note: I am not a biologist, but what I have picked up over the years from weight lifting and layman's nutrition is the following. I may not be exactly right about some things and I encourage you to do your own research because what you get from me is hopefully intriguing but also it is second hand and no one is perfect :)

                    Instead of wasting money on something flavored artificially and saturated with advertisements and dubious claims when you buy your carbs, go with the simplest thing. CytoCarb II is dextrose and maltodextrin. Maltodextrin is pretty much complex chains of dextrose and the chain sizes range from smaller to larger meaning the carbs contained are designed to break down at varying speeds for steady release. They break down directly into glucose. Glucose, of course, is the simplest sugar that (nearly?) all carbs are broken down into in the human body and using dextrose and maltodextrin post workout is the best choice. Unlike fructose, glucose is taken up more readily by the muscles and sucrose, being a combination of glucose and fructose, because fructose contributes to liver glycogen which is less readily used by the muscles. The carbs and sugars cause an insulin spike which helps with protein and creatine uptake into the muscles along with replenishing the glycogen stores in the muscles.

                    This is a cheap product that does what it is supposed to. It is a convenient way to get a maltodextrin/dextrose mix for your PWO shake and these are the best (and simplest most straightforward) carbs to use in such a shake. The makers claim to have crafted it so the distribution of carb complexity is optimal and I can't speak for that but I know that this does its job well and without wasting money or BSing you with pseudoscience.
