Health Notes

Conjugated Linoleic Acid

Conjugated Linoleic Acid
This nutrient has been used in connection with the following health goals
  • Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
  • Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
  • For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.

Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.

For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

This supplement has been used in connection with the following health conditions:

Obesity
Dose: 3.2 to 4.2 grams daily
Though the evidence is conflicting, some studies have shown CLA to be effective at helping people lose body fat. (more)
Athletic Performance
Dose: Refer to label instructions
Conjugated linoleic acid may play a role in reducing body fat. Research has reported that CLA supplementation produces minor gains in muscle size and strength in weight-training men.(more)
Prostate Cancer
Dose: Refer to label instructions
Preliminary research suggests that CLA might reduce the risk of cancers at several sites, including breast, prostate, colorectal, lung, skin, and stomach.(more)
Breast Cancer
Dose: Refer to label instructions
Preliminary research suggests that CLA might reduce breast cancer risk.(more)
Obesity
Dose: 3.2 to 4.2 grams dailyA double-blind trial found that exercising individuals taking 1,800 mg per day of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) lost more body fat after 12 weeks than did a similar group taking a placebo.1 However, two other studies found that amounts of CLA from 0.7 to 3.0 grams per day did not affect body composition.2, 3 Most double-blind trials have found that larger amounts of CLA, 3.2 to 4.2 grams per day, do reduce body fat;4, 5, 6, 7 however, one double-blind study of experienced strength-training athletes reported no effect of 6 grams per day of CLA on body fat, muscle mass, or strength improvement.8

Athletic Performance
Dose: Refer to label instructions

Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a slightly altered form of the essential fatty acid linoleic acid. Animal research suggests an effect of CLA supplementation on reducing body fat.1, 2 Controlled human research has reported that 5.6 to 7.2 grams per day of CLA produces only non-significant gains in muscle size and strength in experienced and inexperienced weight-training men.3, 4, 5 A double-blind study of a group of trained men and women reported reduced body fat in the upper arm after 12 weeks of supplementation with 1.8 grams per day of CLA.6 Further research using more accurate techniques for measuring body composition is needed to confirm these findings.

Comments about Heuer M.D. Research CardiaShred™:

I was hoping this would up the effectiveness of my workouts. I experienced no fat loss and didn't feel any increase in energy. The pills are large and hard to take. I am not sensitive to supplements but this frequently made me nauseous and gave me a stomach ache.

Im only on my second day and can tell I will get results. Since yesterday, I noticed a change in my appetite and have this overall smooth energy like no ever. No crazy feeling; just smooth energy to get me through my day. I will be back in a few to write another review. Another thing I've also noticed is an improvement in my memory. My memory's a bit sharp.. Overall, a great product! A bit on the pricy side, but well worth it:)

I use Cardiashred everyday when I first wake up in the morning and again before my workout. It helps me wake up in the morning and also helps me through my workout while providing me with the push to shed the unwanted fat. In addition to it's fat loss benefits, it also makes me feel better about my health because I am giving my body what it needs to stay healthy (especially me heart). Some other products I did not feel safe taking because they would make my heart flutter, but Cardiashred has eased that anxiety and is the first heart healthy weight loss product that I have ever seen, and it works great! I have really seen results since I stated using this product and would recommend it to anyone!

Really does work it gave me energy when working out plus I was able to do a few more reps than the previous week!!! It also helped me recover faster probably because of the COP. The only con is that the pills are BIG, but I guess you need that to include so many active ingredients.
