Compared with other protein supplements, rice protein has more of the amino acid arginine, and since arginine is a vasodilator that can enhance blood flow to tissues, some athletes believe rice protein may also improve blood flow to muscle to enhance growth and repair. However, no research has investigated the effects of rice protein on athletic performance.

Obesity

Rice protein is extracted from rice and used in some protein supplements. Vegetarians may prefer it over protein supplements made from animal sources (such as whey or casein, which are milk proteins). Since rice is rarely involved in food allergies,1 rice protein may also be preferred by people with food allergies, and may be suitable to use in hypoallergenic infant formulas.2 Rice protein is not a complete protein, however, due to insufficient levels of the amino acids lysine and threonine.3, 4 Therefore, these amino acids are often added to rice protein products to correct this imbalance.

        Stopped by GNC looking for a quick pick-me-up prior to my workout. After seeing the reviews about Quest I decided to try the Cinnamon Roll flavor and was absolutely amazed. I love the flavor of the bar as well as the high amounts of protein and Fiber with low sugar. My girlfriend wasn't too fond of the texture but I thought it was great.

            These are absolutely amazing baked - I bake in the toaster oven for 5 minutes at 350, then top with a bit of sweetened fat-free cream cheeze for a totally guilt-free cinnamon roll that is delicius! Although they are very chewy straight out of the wrapper, baking them makes them wonderfully soft.

              If you like cinnamon buns you'll probably enjoy this. For some reason I was thinking this would taste more like a oatmeal cookie which has hints of cinnamon but it tastes like a cinnamon bun. Lots of cinnamon flavor if that's what you like. A little tougher than the other quest bars. Microwaving it for 10 seconds will definitely help make it taste a lot better too!

                Some of the Quest bars leave a bad aftertaste in my mouth, but this flavor does not! (Also, the apple pie is very tasty.) I like to eat one during breakfast for a high protein meal that keeps me full the rest of the day.

                  Ordered a few quest boxes since Ive heard so much of them, definitely better than any other protein bar Ive had but must admit I was a little dissapointed with this flavor. I love cinnamon and it is still really good but being that these are pretty expensive, I wish I had gotten another box of cookie dough

                      Quest Bar line overall: The best of the best. There's simply no other collection of bars that delivers the high-protein, high-fiber, low-active-carb, high-edibility combination that Quest does. If you don't care about eating a bunch of sugar or other "filler" carbs with your snack protein, then look elsewhere--Quest comes at a premium for those who do care.

                      Cinnamon Roll: A very solid flavor! A mild cinnamon flavor with little bits of... almonds?... mixed in. It stays significantly softer than other flavors (even softer than Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough), and is thus well-suited for eating straight out of the wrapper. The only downside to the softness is that it gets a bit stickier and meltier if you choose to warm it before eating (which I highly recommend, when possible, for any flavor).
