Health Notes

Conjugated Linoleic Acid

Conjugated Linoleic Acid
This nutrient has been used in connection with the following health goals
  • Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
  • Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
  • For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.

Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.

For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

This supplement has been used in connection with the following health conditions:

Obesity
Dose: 3.2 to 4.2 grams daily
Though the evidence is conflicting, some studies have shown CLA to be effective at helping people lose body fat. (more)
Athletic Performance
Dose: Refer to label instructions
Conjugated linoleic acid may play a role in reducing body fat. Research has reported that CLA supplementation produces minor gains in muscle size and strength in weight-training men.(more)
Prostate Cancer
Dose: Refer to label instructions
Preliminary research suggests that CLA might reduce the risk of cancers at several sites, including breast, prostate, colorectal, lung, skin, and stomach.(more)
Breast Cancer
Dose: Refer to label instructions
Preliminary research suggests that CLA might reduce breast cancer risk.(more)
Obesity
Dose: 3.2 to 4.2 grams dailyA double-blind trial found that exercising individuals taking 1,800 mg per day of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) lost more body fat after 12 weeks than did a similar group taking a placebo.1 However, two other studies found that amounts of CLA from 0.7 to 3.0 grams per day did not affect body composition.2, 3 Most double-blind trials have found that larger amounts of CLA, 3.2 to 4.2 grams per day, do reduce body fat;4, 5, 6, 7 however, one double-blind study of experienced strength-training athletes reported no effect of 6 grams per day of CLA on body fat, muscle mass, or strength improvement.8

Athletic Performance
Dose: Refer to label instructions

Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a slightly altered form of the essential fatty acid linoleic acid. Animal research suggests an effect of CLA supplementation on reducing body fat.1, 2 Controlled human research has reported that 5.6 to 7.2 grams per day of CLA produces only non-significant gains in muscle size and strength in experienced and inexperienced weight-training men.3, 4, 5 A double-blind study of a group of trained men and women reported reduced body fat in the upper arm after 12 weeks of supplementation with 1.8 grams per day of CLA.6 Further research using more accurate techniques for measuring body composition is needed to confirm these findings.

Comments about KLEIN BECKER Zoller® Laboratories Zantrex® - 3 Fat Burner:

I bought the red bottle of Zantrex because I'd read a few reviews online and was hooked from then. I went to [@]though and unfortunately they didn't have it there so I had to come here. Go to [@]and get it if they have it at yours, it's cheaper than GNC.I started taking yesterday (9-5-12) and I work up this morning and weighed myself as usual and was 3 POUNDS LESS! What?!?!? I exercised for an hour yesterday and ate my normal healthy meals and I was shocked at the results form that combined with the pills. I know it's the pills that helped me lose 3 lbs because my normal diet/exercise doesn't cause that dramatic a weight loss in a day, it'll usually take 7-8 days. I'm so excited because I now have exactly 15 lbs until I hit my first goal weight and then 5 lbs after that to reach my final goal. So 20 more lbs in total to go. I"m excited because if I keep losing lbs at this rapid of rate then I'll be at my goal in 3-4 weeks probably. I recommend this wholeheartedly. To me there are no cons. I am accustomed to diet pills though and never get jittery, just a little sweaty, but I'm a sweaty person in general. If you have never taken a diet pill before then you MAY experience extreme energy or inability to fall asleep, but that will fade within a few days.

Comments about KLEIN BECKER Zoller® Laboratories Zantrex® - 3 Fat Burner:

this is a great product. i love it i just had my son 4 months ago and gettin back into shape. but the only reason a lot of people write bad reviews is because they are not using it correctly you have to eat a good healthy meal and drink lots and lots of water. im on a diet, workout twice a day intense and still no side effects. i eat lots of healthy food but i dont take the pills twice at once i spread it thru out the day right now im only taking two once a day and on top of that taking a multivitamin. and ive already seen some results in a short amount of time. it helps me pull thru my workouts and gives me the energy i need. you just have to be smart at what you eat AND DO NOT DRINK COKE OR COFFEE while taking this pill it even says it on the bottle due to it already has caffiene because ull get bad side effects thats what other people who have written bad reviews have prbly done i love it and recommnd it for starting to work out again

Comments about KLEIN BECKER Zoller® Laboratories Zantrex® - 3 Fat Burner:

PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE ON THIS AND DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. No joke this stuff is horrible. It should not even be legal- i felt so sick like i just wanted to die. HORRIBLE! There arer way too many ingredients that don't matter all mixed together in these pills. Ive taken Zantrex the blue last year for about 2 months and reached a point where i couldn't take it anymore. My results were good, i looked good but def not worth the side effects. This product should not even be sold at GNC!
