What does a typical day of food and supplements look like for you?

In a typical day, I eat six times with three meals and three snacks. My meals mainly consist of whole foods, lean meat, good sources of carbohydrates and good fats. My eating doesn't change much from off season to competition season. I just adjust my calories according to my training regimen.

How important are vitamins and supplements to your routine?

As a competitive athlete, it is essential for me to have vitamins and supplements as part of my everyday routine. The extensive training I put my body through daily and the elements of everyday living all deplete my body. The supplements I have listed help repair and fuel what my body is lacking. Your body is like a car. You cannot expect it to run on empty or without oil. It's got to be refueled!

What advice would you have for someone who is just beginning to use sports supplements?

If you are new to taking supplements, don’t be afraid to do research and ask questions. It is important to know why and when you should take supplements.

I take GNC Melatonin before bedtime. This supplement helps me get a good night’s rest.
