I am extremely impressed with every aspect of this plant-based omega-3 supplement! Most people associate omega-3 with fish and krill oil, but those animals get it from the algae plants that they eat. This omega-3 supplement is made from algae that is grown in FDA inspected stainless steel fermenters, and so you don't have to worry about the potential high levels of mercury and PCBs that has recently been controversial with oils that are made from wild caught fish. According to their website, the source of DHA in this product (which is the primary omega-3 in this product and the most important form of omega-3) is the brand "life'sDHA," which is the exact same brand of DHA that is used in over 99% of infant formulas in the United States, and so it has been tested thoroughly! As apposed to some fish oil, this product produces no unpleasant burps or aftertaste whatsoever either. Also, please note that krill oil (which also is supposed to avoid those unpleasantness's) has extremely low...that is practically useless...levels of omega-3 (especially DHA) -- and so please compare the supplement facts labels if you take or are thinking about taking krill oil! By the way, flax seed oil, which is sometimes seen as the vegetarian alternative to fish and krill oil, has 0% DHA and 0% EPA (which is the next most important omega-3). This product is simply perfect in terms of ingredients and quality!
