My son was looking forward to purchasing this item. We drove to several stores before finding it in stock. Unfortunately, it is cheaply made and broke after only five uses. The tape simply ripped from the tab...and the tape itself disappeared inside the unit. A waste of money from start to finish. Very disappointed.

This tape was used to measure multiple body parts - chest, arms, waist, hips, thighs, calves once a week for 3 months. The device then broke and was not repairable. Not worth the spend. I purchased it specifically because I could find it at a local GNC store - I should have ordered online from another source and waited it out. Junk...

The button on the product hardly works to retract the tape. The tape tends to measure you as smaller than you really are because it constricts the body part when retracted. Additionally, for measurements such as shoulders, it makes it even more difficult to measure than it normally is.

I was really hoping to get a good tape measure to track changes in my measurements since I'm trying to get healthier and lose weight. I purchased this one in a local GNC store. Unfortunately, I pulled the tape measure out of the package, pulled the tape out to test it on my forearm and it wouldn't retract at all. This one was broken straight out of the package. The product seemed cheap (in quality). Hopefully this was just a defective tape measure but I don't plan to get a second one to find out. I'll be finding another brand.

Worked as it should, but the tape ripped too easily, so it didn't last. They should make a stronger material for the tape. That's the only gripe I have about it.

Easy to use

My husband gave this to me as a gift when I started selling "skinny wraps" so I could measure results.

I have only used it a few times but the pin on the tape end is large and barely fits into the holder. Thus it tends to get stuck and difficult to pull out.

After only a few uses the tape measure has started to tear away from the pin, thus negating the convient usefulness of the product. When I used it the first time I did recommend it to others, but at this point I can't in good faith.

I bought this tape measure because I wanted to start measuring my progress as I transition into a build phase. I have tried to measure myself with a regular, sewing-style tape measure, but they are very hard to use effectively on yourself, particularly for arms. This product, however, is VERY easy to use and makes all measurement taking a breeze. It's compact and won't unravel when you put it in storage.

The only con is that it doesn't feel very robust, which doesn't inspire confidence in me about the spring inside (since it self-rewinds). I guess I'll find out how durable it is, but at least it wasn't expensive in case it does break. Worth the purchase though especially since I won't be using it every day.

It's easy to use and I can easily measure myself quickly. The only problem I had is the end of the measuring tape broke off, probably because I pulled too hard on it. I would still recommend this product, just treat it with care and don't pull so hard.

This product allows me to do my measurements quickly and efficiently for my whole body by myself.

Gives an accurate one handed measurement without having to fumble around with two ends of a traditional measuring tape.

I don't understand why this gets poor reviews. People the measuring tape starts later to account for the body of the tape measurer as a previous review stated. Do some research and use some common sense before putting down a perfectly fine product. this tape measurer does exactly what it is supposed to, is easily available online and in store,cheap but quality, and easy to use. It's truly necessary to monitor your progress if your a serious bodybuilder or even serious about losing weight.

Please disregard the privious review. The author is a ROCK. The tape starts at 1.75" because you have to take into account the body of the measuring tape when measuring around something. I guess the last author should quit hitting the weights, and go hit some books. He rates it one star because he is a ROCK. Its a great product for the price.

The tape I bought starts at 1 3/4"... not zero. Obviously not a big issue, but come on... this is about accuracy. How did "Quality Control" miss this?? -Was this mistake just on mine or are all of these like this?
