Why did I not know about this sooner?
I've been so stressed the last 2 years, it is unbelievable. My daughter's 18 months, and we are always on the go. I have not been able to lose the baby weight, and I've been stressed at home, marriage, work, you name it. I would diet and diet and diet, and nothing was working for me. I would lose 10 pounds, then immediately gain 15. Finally, I realized the underlying reason I was failing at keeping the weight off. In my reading, I discovered that stress can derail the most well-intenionted efforts. Stress causes cortisol levels to rise, which in turn makes you gain weight easily and/or stall efforts to lose weight. So, I googled how to counteract cortisol levels. Rhodiola popped up on most of the results. After reading about it, I decided to try it since it was natural. In the past (going to college full-time while holding a full-time job) I've taken prescription anxiety pills and anti-depressants because I was so stressed out, and lacking sleep. Nothing prescription worked for me, and some of it had such bad side effects that I stopped all of it immediately and never went back. When I went in to GNC, I asked the lady where to find Rhodiola. She immediately asked "having problems with a lot of stress, huh?" She also suggested the GNC ripped vitamin pack. I'm taking the men's since it is the non-stimulant version. The women's pack had caffiene in it - which would not help me with my stress. So far, this stuff has seriously done what it says it's supposed to do. Even through the Thanksgiving week I didn't stress. A wonderful side-effect to taking this for me was that I've lost 10lbs. Lowering my stress had an immediate affect on my weight. I started taking it the week of Thanksgiving, so I'm not "dieting" by any means. I haven't conciously changed my eating habits, but have noticed that even during Thanksgiving, I don't start with the sweet food. It's always the last that I touch and usually don't even finish it. I've had leftover desserts in my fridge for 5 days and I have not touched any of it; it doesn't even sound appetizing. That is a huge breakthrough for me since I am a self-professed sugar-holic. Since this product has no reviews behind it as of yet, I felt compelled to add one in hopes that if there's anyone on the fence out there about getting help with stress the natural way, this truly has been a game changer for me!
