  • 1,200 mg of bone-strengthening calcium

PRENATAL PROGRAM: GNC Prenatal Program is a daily multivitamin program that provides nutritional support for both mother and baby before, during and after pregnancy. Pregnancy is a special time in a woman’s life and an important time to be mindful not only of your individual nutritional needs, but the nutritional needs of your baby as well. Maternal nutrition before and during pregnancy affects both your well-being and your infant’s growth. As your baby develops through the early phases of life, your nutritional needs will also increase. After delivery, you need an adequate diet rich in essential nutrients such as calcium and folic acid to support nursing and replace depleted nutrient store. This delicately blended multivitamin offers supplemental nutritional support for both you and your baby.
  • Prenatal Formula A delicately blended multivitamin that provides you and your baby with supplemental levels of essential nutrients.

This special formula features 1,000 mcg of folic acid critical during the earliest weeks of pregnancy when a baby’s organs are forming. Adequate intake of folic acid in a healthy diet before and during early pregnancy may reduce the risk of birth defects of the brain and spinal cord.

This formula also provides 600 mg of bone-strengthening calcium and 400 IU of vitamin D-3 to enhance calcium absorption, as well as iron to support placental and fetal needs and a mother’s increased blood volume.
  • Calcium 600 Provides an additional 600 mg of bone-strengthening calcium which is vital during pregnancy, especially during the their trimester when fetal bones begin to calcify. If a mother’s calcium level drops, her body can pull calcium from her bones resulting in loss of bone density.
  • DHA 200 Includes DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), an omega-3 fatty acid naturally present in fish. DHA is the predominant structural fatty acid in the brain and retina and is passed through the placenta to the baby and then, following childbirth, it is passed through breast milk.

Supplementing with DHA helps pregnant and nursing mothers replenish DHA necessary for a baby’s healthy brain and eye function development

GNC DHA is ultra pure and natural. It has been purified and manufactured for freshness. We use the ICP-MS (Inductively Couple Plasma Mass Spectroscopy) method to verify the absence of contaminants such as lead, arsenic, mercury and PCBs.
A complete nutritional program should be followed prior to conception through pregnancy and maintained while breastfeeding. Talk to your doctor about adding GNC Prenatal Program to your daily nutritional regimen.

Hi April, Each packet contains a days worth of the supplements in the Prenatal Program. You may choose to take then all at one time, or spread out over the day. A number of customers take our Vitapaks over the course of 2 meals like Breakfast and Lunch, choosing to take half of the products during each of these two meals.

Caused extreme nausea and stomach ache
I took prenatal vitamin program for two weeks, and had a horrible experience. I took the pills in the morning and felt nausea the whole day. I thought that's because of the morning sickness symptom but one day I took the pills at night and I even couldn't sleep. Then I realized my nausea and stomach ache was caused by the vitamins. I stopped taking these for a two days and the nausea got relief. Really don't know what's in the vitamins that caused these terrible feeling. Morning sickness is already make me feel sick, the GNC prenatal program makes me feel even worse!

The directions on the back of the box indicate that this is a 30 day program, however the iron supplement directions say to take 2 a day but only contain 30 pills... my question is, do i take two tablets of the iron, 1 of the calcium, and one of the DHA a day?.. if so i will run out of the iron tablets... also i know that iron can be poisonous if taken more than the recomended dose.. is it safe to take the 2 tablets a day anyways?... Thanks

BEST ANSWER: The "Prenatal Formula with iron" bottle contains 60 caplets, therefore, there are enough caplets for 30 days. Take two of these caplets a day, one calcium and one DHA per day.
Does this prenatal supplement contain iron and if so how much? I did not see any supplemental nutrition facts listed for this product. Thank you.
A shopper on Jan 10, 2010
BEST ANSWER: There are 60-ct Prenatal vitamins included allowing you to take 2 pills per day. There is also a bottle of supplemental calcium and a bottle of DHA included (30 ct each).
is the Omega-3 capsule in the GNC Women's Prenatal Program mercury free (i.e. has all the Mercury been taken out of the fish oil that is used in this product).

Also, is the oil from the flesh of the fish?
A shopper on Jan 24, 2010
BEST ANSWER: Based on the label, Omega-3 lists Fish Body Oil as the first ingredient. I believe that FDA requires Omega-3 supplements to be tested for mercury and if containing, mercury, cannot be sold.
Is it okay to take all four of these pills at the same time? One of the reviews mentioned that it was not good to consume both the prenatal vitimans and calcium at the same time due to the iron counteracting the calcium. Is this accurate?
A shopper on Jan 14, 2010
BEST ANSWER: It contains 18mg of iron. It's listed on the back of the "Prenatal Formula" bottle.
Do these vitamins contain soy?
