Side effects
Okay. So. I tried two flavors, the strawberry lime and the watermelon. I ended up returning the strawberry lime because it had a weird aftertaste to me and got the watermelon which is a million times better taste wise. I have to admit that I decided to try this to help me kick my energy drink habit and get my caffeine boost from a more natural source since it doesn’t have all the extra taurine and other stuff that energy drinks do and to help recover after my workouts. It felt like a win-win situation. The first week or so was great, I was mixing two scoops in about 15 oz of water to cut down the sweetness a little bit, and I felt good and like I have enough energy to give me that last push through the work day. Then about three weeks in I started having some weird side effects. I did some research and found that amino supplements can cause bloating, gas, and gastrointestinal distress. I am the poster child for those side effects. All of them. It’s awful. So I cut back to my usual two scoops every other day and it’s not as bad, but I’m still thinking I’ll have to cut this from my regimen.

So three stars for good taste and bc it’s effective, but it also tears up my stomach.

please tell me what is the maximum period of time till we can use this product??
i brought one today which was manufactured on jan 2011 and expiration time is written on it.
Kindly tell me till when i could use this product??
A shopper on Oct 14, 2012
BEST ANSWER: You generally want to use any supplement by the expiration date. If you have an expired product, it will not be harmful, but will be less potent that a "fresh" one. If the expiration date has not passed, the product is fine to use and should just as potent now as it was when it was packaged.

A shopper on Mar 5, 2018

I see that the amino chews don't have as much aminos in the blend as the powder drink why does it have less and which one is more beneficial?
A shopper on Jul 21, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Both products provide Optimum Nutrition's proprietary Amino Energy Blend. The chews have 2.1 grams per serving, while the powder has 5 grams per serving. I suggest choosing the one that fits your lifestyle the best, remembering that the powder must me mixed with water, while the chewables are quick and easy for use on the go.

How will prodcut affect my kidney and high blood pressure ?
A shopper on May 6, 2012
BEST ANSWER: This product should not adversely affect your kidneys. However, it will raise your blood pressure. This is due to the fact that it contains both tyrosine and phenylalanine, which are two amino acids that can potentially cause a dangerous increase in blood pressure. These particular amino acids are also associated with rapid heart beat, fatigue and dizziness.
