DYMATIZE® ELITE CASEIN XT provides 24 grams of slow digesting casein protein per serving. ELITE CASEIN XT is specifically designed to digest more slowly in your body than other rapid release protein sources such as whey. This slow digestion is a result of the natural pH sensitivity of Casin Protein in the digestive track. Don't know if product is effective or not, because I can't get pass the chunkiness. I used a shaker bottle with the blender ball and have not had problems mixing other protein shakes before this one. I shook the protein longer and added more water, but lots of chunks remain.

I tried this product because I have used the whey protein and it tasted really good. However, the casein protein, not so much. It had a horrible taste and I only tried one scoop and it was so bad, I immediately returned it.

Tastes like the frosting on frosted flakes cereal. There's absolutely no hint of any unpleasant smell or taste. If anything, it's a little addictive if you like sweets.
All casein is suppose to clump a little bit which helps make it slow to digest (or good for sustained amino acid release overnight). So no complaints there.Pros

I mix this w/whey protein after working out. Since I workout in the evening, it sustains me thru the night. I also take it mixed the next morning. I tried it right before bedtime, to much weight to fast for me. The mixed combo works out great. At 55 yrs old, muscle weight is all I need and this stuff foots the bill.

Good price. Good taste. A little grainy, but not bad at all, just a different consistency than other proteins. Easy to mix and great before bed, like other caseins, for that slow digestion. Supposedly, this 'XT' version is an extra slower digesting, but I wouldn't know if it was or wasn't.

Absolutely fantastic! I wanted to try something new, so I got this! It tastes wonderful! Is high in protein, low fat/carbs. Its great for before bed and for breakfast. Definitely worth it. Obviously a little thicker and smoother than other proteins, mixes well and digests slowly, which helps with hunger too! so it keeps you full. This is by far my favorite protein by Dymatize
