Health Notes

Magnesium

Magnesium
  • Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
  • Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
  • For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.

Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.

For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

Magnesium is an essential mineral to the human body. It is needed for bone, protein, and fatty acid formation, making new cells, activating B vitamins, relaxing muscles, clotting blood, and forming adenosine triphosphate (ATP; the energy the body runs on). The secretion and action of insulin also require magnesium.

      Comments about GNC Super Magnesium:

Was told to take this for muscle cramps and low and behold my joint movement and pain was improved by a gazillion percent. I could hardly wear shoes with heels and last week I wore a pair of high pumps for the entire day and then went for 1 mile walk up a hill. I have had 4 knee surgeries and a total hip replacement. I am pretty young still (57) so it has been debilitating until now. I FEEL GREAT. I am rocking the pain free world now. I feel so much better. My fiance has problems with both his shoulders and after my experience decided to give it a try and he too had huge success. I am so happy about this product and wish I had known about it a few years ago. What a pleasant surprise. I went back and bought 2 more bottles and MSM....oh yes I am and some B-12 too. PAINLESS ENERGY HERE I COME!!!!! YEEEHHHAAAAA THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY :)

I use this every day since my doctor recommended I get more Magnesium in my diet. This gives you 3 highly absorb-able forms of Mag. Depending on what you read, certain forms of mag are better than others. This fixes that by giving you all 3 of the most recommended forms.
