      I bought this product on the advice of the store sales clerk who told me that he takes the melatonin 5 and it worked for him. I knew that pills usually don't work on me (low doses) so I tried the melatonin 10 which had no effect on me. It did not make me drowsy or sleepy!

        I am a pharmacy technician and I would recommend using this product if you have occassional sleeping problem. Melatonin is naturally produced in the brain by the pineal gland and it's light-sensitive, meaning the brain will not produce melatonin when one is in a brightly-lit enviornment. It works along with your circadian rhythm so it will take sometime for your body to adjust.

        That being said, melatonin works best when you are relaxed and NOT being under the influence of sitmulants. Staying in dim light also helps melatonin to work more efficiently.

        For people that experience lack of therapeutic effect from melatonin might be:
        1. Overly exicted (exercise within 1-2 hours before taking melatonin will decrease its therapeutic effects)
        2. Under the influence of stimulant (coffee, tea, etc.)
        3. Insensitive to melatonin (seek medical help)
        4. Being in brightly-lit enviornment.

        As always, check with your doctor to see whether melatonin is right for you. Or else you will just be disappointed.

          This is the most effective Melatonin I have found. I have tried a different brand in a higher dose (20mg) and it did not work as well as taking two of these. Takes about 20mins to start working.

                I took this pill and didn't feel asleep upto next 2 hrs. I come back from gym at 10pm and I took the pill at around 10:30 after my postwork out meal. I was expecting it to make me feel sleepy but I didn't feel a thing untill next 2 hrs. so finally slept on my own.
