Omega-6 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids that perform essential functions in the human body. The most abundant member of this family in food and in the body is linoleic acid. Other members include gamma-linolenic acid and arachidonic acid. Linoleic acid is considered an essential fatty acid since it cannot be synthesized by the body. However, other members of the omega-6 family can be made from linoleic acid.
Omega-6 fatty acids have numerous important roles in the body.1 They contribute to the structure and function of cell membranes and play a part in the regulation of gene activity inside the cell. Arachidonic acid is especially abundant in the brain, and may be important for normal brain development of the fetus and infant. Both arachidonic acid and gamma-linolenic acid can be converted to prostaglandins and related substances that affect inflammation, blood clotting, smooth muscle tone, and many other body activities.

I was drawn to Cardia 7 as an alternative to statins for cholesterol after experiencing a severe reaction to the statin. Starting with a daily dosage of one capsule a day I noticed my blood sugar levels dropped to a more normal level giving better control to the diabetic medication. When my cholesterol readings did not change within 90 days it was recommended that I take 2 capsules daily. Within 2 days blood levels dropped to the point medication was no longer needed since the readings were too low. Once meds were stopped the Cardia 7 had maintained normal blood sugar levels. I have every confidence that my cholesterol will show improvement in this next 90 day period! I will be back to share cholesterol results.

I purchased cardia7 a month before my annual physical to see if it improved my HDL cholesterol level as adverised. I have been taking flax seed oil and fish oil regularly for several years with good effect. This, along with an improved diet, has allowed me to stop all prescribed cholesterol meds by improving the ratio of HDL to LDL. By simply adding cardia7 to my daily regimen, my HDL level was raised by over 30% from the last two years levels! This further improved the HDL:LDL ratio and placed this 62 year old in the well below average risk group for coronary artery disease! Thanks for a great product!!
