Description
400 MG
  • Helps Support Metabolism
  • Supports Healthy Blood Sugar Levels
  • Helps Control Appetite
Rich in Chlorogenic Acid

Recently, coffee has been getting a reputation as a diet-friendly beverage. Although it has been largely thought that caffeine is the energizing, fat-burning ingredient in coffee, new research is now pointing to chlorogenic acid, a remarkable compound that's found in the unroasted (or "green") coffee bean, but which is largely destroyed during the roasting process.

The chlorogenic acid in green coffee helps you to manage your weight and promote fitness in a variety of ways. First, according to research reported in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, chlorogenic acid from green coffee reduces sugar absorption from the intestines. It also has been shown to help inhibit an enzyme in the liver that releases sugar into the bloodstream. These two effects help to maintain healthy sugar levels so you can control your appetite.

Chlorogenic acid has also been shown to speed up the rate of metabolic fat burning, and laboratory studies have even shown a reduction in the size of fat cells.

You may not be able to pour yourself a cup of green coffee – chlorogenic acid is extremely bitter – but now you can enjoy the benefits every day with Windmill's Green Coffee Bean Extract tablets. Just take with meals as directed, and see what it can do for you! For maximum results, Green Coffee Bean Extract should be consumed in conjunction with a healthy diet and a program of regular exercise.

Health Notes

Green Coffee Extract

Green Coffee Extract
This nutrient has been used in connection with the following health goals
  • Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
  • Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
  • For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.

Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.

For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

This supplement has been used in connection with the following health conditions:

Obesity
Dose: Extract providing 400 to 450 mg of chlorogenic acids per day
Some controlled research has suggested that green coffee extracts taken as supplements or in food may support weight loss. (more)
Hypertension
Dose: Extracts providing at least 50 mg per day chlorogenic acids
Extracts of green, unroasted coffee that are high in chlorogenic acids might help lower blood pressure. (more)
Type 2 Diabetes
Dose: Refer to label instructions
Drinking either regular or decaffeinated coffee has been associated with reduced type 2 diabetes risk in several preliminary human studies. (more)
Obesity
Dose: Extract providing 400 to 450 mg of chlorogenic acids per day Animal research suggests that green coffee extract and its major component, chlorogenic acid, may help with weight loss and reducing abdominal fat.1, 2 An uncontrolled human study found that people who drank 750 ml per day of coffee containing green coffee bean constituents for four weeks ate fewer calories and lost weight.3 In a controlled study, overweight people who drank a coffee beverage containing green coffee extract (providing 400 to 450 mg of chlorogenic acids per day) for 12 weeks lost an average of about 12 pounds and 3.6% body fat compared to less than 4 pounds and an insignificant amount of body fat lost by people who drank a similar amount of coffee without added green coffee extracts.4 Another controlled study reported a statistically significant 11 pound weight loss after 60 days when overweight people took 400 mg per day of green coffee extracts (providing 180 mg of chlorogenic acids per day), compared to about a five pound loss in people taking a placebo.5 The green coffee extracts group also significantly raised their ratio of lean body tissue to body fat compared to the control group. In a double-blind trial, overweight adults who took daily amounts of either 700 or 1,050 mg of green coffee extracts (providing 320 to 480 mg chlorogenic acids) for six weeks lost an average of almost 18 pounds and over 4% body fat, a statistically significant improvement compared to when they took a placebo.6 Since all of these studies lasted only 12 weeks or less, more research is needed to determine if green coffee extracts can help people accomplish long-term weight loss.

Hypertension
Dose: Extracts providing at least 50 mg per day chlorogenic acids While drinking regular coffee or other sources of caffeine may slightly raise blood pressure,1 coffee also contains chlorogenic acids that may have a blood pressure-lowering effect, according to animal research.2 However, a double-blind study found that a substance produced by roasting coffee can inhibit this blood pressure-lowering effect, and by removing this substance, coffee lowered blood pressure.3 This suggests that extracts of unroasted ("green") coffee that are high in chlorogenic acids might help lower blood pressure. A double-blind trial found that eating soups containing green coffee extracts providing at least 50 mg per day chlorogenic acids lowered blood pressure significantly better than soup containing no green coffee extracts in people with mild hypertension, but that lower amounts of green coffee extracts in the soup were not effective.4 A double-blind trial of green coffee extract supplements containing 140 mg per day of chlorogenic acids reduced systolic blood pressure by an average of 10 mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure by an average of 7 mm Hg in people with mild hypertension.5 One controlled trial found no blood pressure-lowering effect of green coffee extract supplements in people with normal blood pressure.6

Type 2 Diabetes
Dose: Refer to label instructionsDrinking either regular or decaffeinated coffee has been associated with reduced type 2 diabetes risk in several preliminary human studies.1 Test tube studies suggest that chlorogenic acid, a primary constituent found in both coffee and in green coffee extract may inhibit glucose production by the liver,2 which could theoretically lead to lower blood sugar. An animal study found that green coffee extract also prevented the reduction in insulin sensitivity caused by a high-fat diet.3 No human studies have tested the effect of green coffee extract on reducing risk of diabetes or improving insulin sensitivity, but a double-blind trial found that healthy people who drank a sweetened coffee beverage containing green coffee extract (providing 400 to 450 mg of chlorogenic acids) had lower blood sugar during the following two hours compared to when they drank the same coffee beverage without added green coffee extract.4 More research is needed to determine whether green coffee extract can help prevent or treat type 2 diabetes.

I took 1 tab combined with 1 tab Garcinia Cambogia (same brand), both in the morning and just before lunch. I did notice I had more energy and was more motivated to get things done around the house and work. I was disappointed that I lost only 3 lbs. I never skipped a dose and stayed consistant for a whole month. I saw in a previous post that someone took 2 tabs, I might give that a try. I did some research and for it to be effective it should be 1200 mg and 45% GCA. I would recommend this product for energy, not so much for weight loss!

Comments about Windmill™ Health Products Green Coffee Bean Extract:

I was skeptical about trying this product, because it's so many out there. I had been thinking about taking this for a while, well I finally picked a bottle up from my local GNC after I had gained a few pounds over the holidays. I must say it does work, I take one with breakfast, then one with lunch. It doesn't keep me up. Some days I take one with lunch, then one with dinner. I've been taking it for a week going on two, and I've already lost 7 pounds! Still going. I've been watching my calorie intake also, but I still have my French fries. Great price, and you take only 2 capsules a day, unlike some others they advised you to take 3 in the morning with breakfast and 3 with lunch. I hope this review helps you on your weight loss journey.

In my 20 years of yo yo dieting and fighting the scale....this is the best "diet" aid I have ever taken. No jitters of any kind. Yhe best use for me is taking 2 tablets 30-45 minutes before 2 of your biggest meals of the day.I started out at 185, and 7 months later I am 148, and still going down.

Comments about Windmill™ Health Products Green Coffee Bean Extract:

I cannot express how happy I am with my results with these. I started taking them at the end of March, when i started the bottle I weighed 234-235... (unfortunately). I weighed myself when the bottle was finished, which was a little over a month (I skipped a few days) and when I got on the scale...200!!!! I was blown away. I really didnt change my eating habits because I wanted to see how it worked with my normal (bad) habits. I never had the slightest bit of the jitters or any side affects. The only thing I did notice was that if I ate something really fatty or greasy like pizza...I could tell when I went to the restroom (if you know what I mean). I am a hairstylist and have recommended this to so many of my clients, who have walked right over and got a bottle from the GNC beside my salon. I cannot wait to see if its worked for them like it has me.. THIS STUFF WORKS!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.

I did notice that I wasn't hungry later on compared to when I didn't take it. I didn't like how you couldn't have milk with it as I eat ceral in the morning.

Comments about Windmill™ Health Products Green Coffee Bean Extract:

I set my alarm every morning to take other meds one hour prior to getting out of bed, so I take these at the same time. When I do that, I have more energy. Because I eat right away when I get out of bed, it is hard to wait the 30 min's after taking the pills. I usually forget to take them 30 min's prior to eating dinner too, so I try to take them around 3 or 4 each afternoon. Therefore, I would say it is not a very convenient method. Though one would think we could adhere to these simple rules rather than the alternative of grueling exercise:) They don't keep me awake at night, I could sleep thru a freight train. I do feel I have much more energy when I take this supplement as directed, which is great. Though I wouldn't say it is a great appetite suppressant, you can lose weight if you follow the rules. I have been able to lose about 1/2 to 1 pound when I take the pills and watch what I eat. I just don't stick to it like I should. So, if you follow the plan and eat right you can lose the weight....You just have to want it bad enough to make it happen" and remember why you ordered it in the first place.....Don't give up on yourself.......These can be effective if you follow the plan:)
