    Obesity
    Dose: 3.2 to 4.2 grams dailyA double-blind trial found that exercising individuals taking 1,800 mg per day of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) lost more body fat after 12 weeks than did a similar group taking a placebo.1 However, two other studies found that amounts of CLA from 0.7 to 3.0 grams per day did not affect body composition.2, 3 Most double-blind trials have found that larger amounts of CLA, 3.2 to 4.2 grams per day, do reduce body fat;4, 5, 6, 7 however, one double-blind study of experienced strength-training athletes reported no effect of 6 grams per day of CLA on body fat, muscle mass, or strength improvement.8

    Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a slightly altered form of the essential fatty acid linoleic acid. Animal research suggests an effect of CLA supplementation on reducing body fat.1, 2 Controlled human research has reported that 5.6 to 7.2 grams per day of CLA produces only non-significant gains in muscle size and strength in experienced and inexperienced weight-training men.3, 4, 5 A double-blind study of a group of trained men and women reported reduced body fat in the upper arm after 12 weeks of supplementation with 1.8 grams per day of CLA.6 Further research using more accurate techniques for measuring body composition is needed to confirm these findings.

      I recently started taking this as I was looking for a CLA complex to help with my cutting goals, the GNC rep suggested this over the one I was going for and I'm glad.

        This product really does help me get a good nights rest and feel rested when I wake up. Ive been taking it for almost 6 months and I can say that its not habit forming. I stopped taking it for a few weeks and didnt feel the NEED to have to take it to sleep. That alone is a huge plus for me! I also take 2 of the regular CLA during the day and then take 3 of the PM's at night to get the recommended MG per day. CLA works great and has helped in weight loss and also muscle toning.
        Highly recommended. PLEASE give this product the time it needs to work...up to 3 months.

        I've been taking the regular Total Lean CLA off and on for years. I don't work out at all, so just with watching what I eat for the most part, CLA has always kept me as pretty toned as I can get without actually working out. I switched over to trying the PM version and it wasn't as effective at all. Also, it relaxed me a bit but certainly did not put me asleep.

        Wasn't sure on taking this I have 3 kids 2 which are still in diapers. Doesn't put me to sleep as much as I would like. But even on the nights I get no sleep I jump outta bed ready to start my day. It really does help with that morning sluggishness. I am not a total health nut. But I do watch what I eat and drink. As far as losing weight with these, not sure if it's the cla pm or the fact that I quit eating junk food and pop.

        I've been using the Premium CLA Complex for a while and just decided to try the CLA PM recently. I've been taking it for about it a week now. Althought the suggested serving size is 4 capsules a night, I have just been taking 2, instead.

        one pro: I've noticed that when I wake up in the morning, I do notice that I feel less bloated, and am actually hungry enough to eat something (usually I'm not hungry so I don't eat breakfast). So, throughout the day, I have a steady metabolism and hunger pattern, rather than feeling "full" all day until having intense hunger pangs midmorning-afternoon.

        one con: I'm not sure if it's the "rest and relaxtation complex" in CLA PM, but I've been waking up everyday feeling really groggy. something along the lines of taking an Ambien or something. It does help me fall asleep and stay asleep, however waking up takes me a quick minute or two longer than normal.

          I tried this product because I was having trouble sleeping, not insomnia exactly but just trouble. I read the reviews before buying, etc. Personally, this supplement did the opposite for me of what it did for others, it did make me feel relaxed and I took it about an hour before bedtime; but I'd go to bed and fall asleep, only to wake in the middle of the night with a racing heart, all sweaty and I'd be wide awake for the rest of the night. I took this for about 4 days, just to see if my system needed to adjust to them but the side effects were persistent. I never experienced the racing heart prior to taking these pills but once I stopped taking them -all that stopped. I went back to taking z-quil when I need it and everything is fine. So, not sure what the problem was for me with this particular supplement because I do take regular CLA (daily and have been for months) and a GNC multi-vitamin and haven't had any side effects. So, beware, this pill can cause undesirable side effects in different people. I'm sure this is probably a quality product and would recommend it to a friend but I'd let them know of my experience.

            Been using this product for about a month now, wanted to wait and give it a bit of a run before reviewing. So as far as the weight loss piece goes, I've dropped a couple pounds, nothing amazing though. The best thing I've found about this item is that I've found myself getting better sleep. Not just a little better, but actually waking up refreshed and ready to go. Not a twitchy energy, just feeling good. Taken it with food, without food, doesn't seem to make a difference for me there, but I've got a bit of an iron stomach. Haven't been following the instructions, they want you to take 4 pills a night, I've been taking 2-3 only. That may account for the limited loss in weight, but truth be told, I'm more impressed with how I feel in the mornings, I used to really drag along until lunch but now I'm able to get after the day from the time I get up. Doesn't matter if I've only gotten 4-6 hours of sleep, still wake up refreshed. Great product for those who don't get as much sleep as they should.

              I have been taking this product for about 2 weeks now and I love it! I have combined it with a healthy eating plan, crossfit, and hot yoga. Every morning I swear I wake up leaner.

              The only con I can mention is increased urination throughout the night during the first four or so nights of taking. I think it was just my body getting used to it and the CLA flushing me out! Now, I have no problems and have been sleeping sooo much better.

              While ive been using CLA PM everyday for about 2 weeks, I have begun to notice that my weight has dropped slightly (around 2 pounds). I work out 5 days per week and have recently loaded on creatine, so the fact that I have managed to sustain/drop my weight may be due to the effect of the CLA. whatever the case may be, I will continue to use CLA PM as a nighttime sleeping supplement, as I do wake up noticeably refreshed in the morning. iwud give it a 7/10
