Some research has shown that supplemental branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) (typically 10 to 20 grams per day) do not result in meaningful changes in body composition,1 nor do they improve exercise performance or enhance the effects of physical training.2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 However, BCAA supplementation may be useful in special situations, such as preventing muscle loss at high altitudes and prolonging endurance performance in the heat.8, 9 One controlled study gave triathletes 6 grams per day of BCAA for one month before a competition, then 3 grams per day from the day of competition until a week following. Compared with a placebo, BCAA restored depleted glutamine stores and immune factors that occur in elite athletes, and led to a reported one-third fewer symptoms of infection during the period of supplementation.10 Studies by one group of researchers suggest that BCAA supplementation may also improve exercise-induced declines in some aspects of mental functioning.11, 12, 13

          This is the first BCAA supp I have ever taken and I decided to get a Cellucor BCAA because I am a huge fan of their other products. I use Cellucor BCAA as my intra-workout drink & I stack it with Cellucor C4. It is hard to say if this supp is effective or not because I see such good results just from the C4. I like the Beta Alanine in it because I keeps that "tingling" feeling I like throughout my workout. I am not a big fan of the watermelon flavor because it is very sour. I mix one scoop with a lot of water and take little sips during my rests between sets.

          i bought this because the guy at my GNC told me to since i loved the C4 Margarita flavor and although it works great i felt it wasn't a big enough burst of energy for me. the BCAA is doing its job, i realized quickly that the effect never wore off, i didnt feel too itchy, it made me sweat harder and go longer in the gym. that said-DO NOT BUY THIS FLAVOR!! remember Warheads? imagine someone pulverized only the sour part of one, put it in water and made you drink it. GROSSS!!! every single time i took this i put the least amount of water recommended, swallowed holding my nose and then drank half a bottle of water to get the taste to go away. i love cellucor but please take this one back to square one!! will be buying bcaa again just a different flavor!!

              i personally take during my work out but realistically you can take it whenever you want. it tastes like a watermelon jolly rancher, it breaks up in water easily, and the beta alenine gives a bit of a boost during the work out. i highly recommend this product.

                    I have never tried a BCAA supplement before, but I have been seeing a lot of BCAA products come out lately so I thought I would give this one a try and see what it is all about. I was told they just help you build muscle so I didn't know what to expect. What I noticed from this product is a little more build from my workouts. I also don't know if it was because, I stacked this with a pre-workout which I just started also, but I felt trimmer and more defined after each workout. I also noticed a light energy push to get me through workouts from this product. Overall, I like it. The taste is different but, not bad. I would just say the overall effects are harder to notice to me than most supplements but, I wouldn't say it's not doing anything.
