New Chew
  • Fuels a Nitrogen-Rich Environment for Anti-Catabolic Support
  • 2200mg of BCAA for Muscle Replenishing & Glycogen Sparing
  • Delicious On-the-Go Delivery of Anabolic BCAA
It's long been accepted that Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA) – leucine, isoleucine and valine – are critically important for stimulating muscle protein synthesis, reducing protein breakdown and preserving muscle glycogen stores. Sometimes it's difficult to get the propery nutrients when you are on the go. Now with GNC's Pro Performance® BCAA Complex Chew, you can get your essential BCAA whenever and where ever you are! Put them in your car, your gym bag or your briefcase and fulfill your BCAA necessities where you are.

Nitro-Factor™ - Maximize Muscle Building
The full muscle building potential of a GNC product is based on its total nitrogen content – so the more nitrogen a product has, the stronger it will perform. Nitrogen needs increase during training, and if nitrogen stores are low, your body pulls from muscle stores which can result in catabolism, poor performance and longer recovery. Pro Performance® BCAA Complex Chew with a Nitro-Factor™ of 2 grams helps fuel performance and anabolism.

Health Notes

Branched-Chain Amino Acids

Branched-Chain Amino Acids
This nutrient has been used in connection with the following health goals
  • Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
  • Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
  • For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.

Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.

For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

This supplement has been used in connection with the following health conditions:

Athletic Performance and Mental Decline During Exercise at Extreme Temperature
Dose: Refer to label instructions
Some research has shown that branched-chain amino acids help prevent muscle loss at high altitudes, prolong endurance performance in the heat, and improve exercise-induced declines in mental functioning. (more)
Athletic Performance and Post-Exercise Infection at Extreme Temperature
Dose: Refer to label instructions
Some research has shown that branched-chain amino acids may support immune fuction and improve infection at high altitudes and prolong endurance performance in the heat. (more)

Athletic Performance and Mental Decline During Exercise at Extreme Temperature
Dose: Refer to label instructions

Some research has shown that supplemental branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) (typically 10 to 20 grams per day) do not result in meaningful changes in body composition,1 nor do they improve exercise performance or enhance the effects of physical training.2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 However, BCAA supplementation may be useful in special situations, such as preventing muscle loss at high altitudes and prolonging endurance performance in the heat.8, 9 One controlled study gave triathletes 6 grams per day of BCAA for one month before a competition, then 3 grams per day from the day of competition until a week following. Compared with a placebo, BCAA restored depleted glutamine stores and immune factors that occur in elite athletes, and led to a reported one-third fewer symptoms of infection during the period of supplementation.10 Studies by one group of researchers suggest that BCAA supplementation may also improve exercise-induced declines in some aspects of mental functioning.11, 12, 13

The branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) are leucine, isoleucine, and valine. BCAAs are considered essential amino acids because human beings cannot survive unless these amino acids are present in the diet.

First time taking the product today and I wasn't sure I would be able to get past the taste. But as a previous reviewer said, if you just chew it fast and chase it down with some water ... LOTS... you will be fine. I've already noticed that I am not as sore as I usually am after leg day, so I am looking forward to seeing how great this product works after a week.

I needed a supplement that would help with my workouts and recovery. I hate pills so when I saw the chews I had to try them. they are amazing and I can feel a difference. I am an endurance athlete, marathoner, as well as a full body fitness weight lifter so finding this chew is gold. I am also a personal trainer and would recommend this to anyone who is serious about their routine!

Comments about GNC Pro Performance® BCAA Complex Chew – Tropical Punch:

they have everything I was looking for in a BCAA. they are quality because GNC has their name on it. the problem is the awful taste and from the way it looks, with only one selection. tropical punch, youre quite limited. if you chew quick and get it down, youll be good, if not, you;ll be chewing forever and the taste gets worse the more you chew it. all in all, I would buy it again. shortened recovery time like I was looking.
