- Health Notes
-
L-Carnitine
L-Carnitine- Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
- Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
- For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.
Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.
For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

It transports fatty acids into mitochondria, the powerhouses of cells. Comments about GNC L-Carnitine 500:
I take it twice daily, about 30-60 minutes before meals. No side effects (observed for me). Easy to swallow. Quality product. Assists in prohibiting fat acquisition during digestion. Good method to maintain and even lose weight - but it is not a dietary replacement, nor can you eat everything in front of you and expect it to work effectively. Using the "everything in moderation" mantra, in conjunction with this product, and you will see and feel the results.

Comments about GNC L-Carnitine 500:
I have been recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, and am waiting on an appt. with an endocrinologist. Contrary to popular belief this illness can cause severe fatigue. I HAD to find something to relieve some of my symptoms in the mean time. After reading several studies on the use of L-carnitine for hyperthyroidism I decided to give this a try. It not only helped my fatigue IMMENSELY, it also stopped the heart palpitations that I have been experiencing daily! I have had no side effects from taking this and will continue to use it unless my doctor says otherwise.
