Brew Well to be Well
For maximum benefit, medicinal tea must be properly prepared. Pour 8 oz. freshly boiled water over a tea bag in a cup. Cover cup and steep 10-15 minutes. These steps directly influence the amount of beneficial components that will end up in your teacup! Gently squeeze the tea bag to release any remaining extract. To encourage nighttime relaxation, drink 2-3 cups late in the day and 1/2 hour before bedtime.

While this is a relatively small study and more research is needed to determine if melatonin can help actual patients in an ICU, it does suggest that melatonin supplementation may be a helpful sleep aid for people in settings with increased noise and light-possibly even more so than earplugs and eye masks.
