THE BIGGER PICTURE OF EGG PROTEIN
Nutritionists commonly refer to eggs as the "gold standard" for protein quality because they're very easily digested and contain generous amounts of all eight essential amino acids. Eggs are naturally free of lactose, so they're also much more "forgiving" to athletes who have trouble with diary foods or milk-based protein powders. Our Gold Standard 100% Eggs takes the benefits a step further by virtually eliminating the fat and cholesterol found in whole eggs. Each scoop of Gold Standard 100% Egg packs as much protein as seven egg whites with just 2 grams of carbs. By making this stuff INSTANTIZED to mix-up easily too, we may have elevated our egg to "platinum" status.
BEYOND THIS BASIC- 24 grams of Egg White Protein per serving
- Very High Biological Value (BV)
- Non-Dairy, No Lactose
- Contains Aminogen® digestive enzyme system to enhance utilization
- Over 5 grams of BCAAs (Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine)
- Loaded with all 8 Essential Amino Acids
- 0 grams of sugar so it's great for contest and low-carb dieting
- INSTANTIZED to mix easily with a spoon

SPOON STIRRED: Gold Standard 100% Egg is INSTANTIZED. That means if you forget your shaker cup or don't have time to get out the blender, you can just add one heaping scoop of Gold Standard 100% Egg to a glass filled with 6-8 oz of cold water, milk, or your favorite beverage. Then mix it up with a spoon for about 30 seconds or until powder is completely dissolved.
SHAKER: Bringing a shaker cup with you to the gym is the best way to get a powerful dose of protein immediately after your workout. Just add one heaping scoop of Gold Standard 100% Egg to your shaker cup and then pour 6-8 oz of your preferred beverage. Cover and shake for 25-30 seconds.
BLENDER: Add one heaping scoop of Gold Standard 100% Egg to a blender filled with 6-8 oz of water, milk, or your favorite beverage. Blend for 15-20 seconds. Then add 3-4 ice cubes and blend for an additional 20 seconds. SHAKE UP YOUR SHAKE: By adding a few high-energy ingredients to your shake you can blend up a delicious meal: try adding fresh bananas, peanut butter, flaxseed oil, coconut, slivered almonds, or other ingredients. STACK YOUR SHAKE: By adding supplements like Micronized Creatine, Glutamine, Taurine, and/or INSTANTIZED BCAA powders, you can make Gold Standard 100% Egg an even more powerful post-workout recovery product.
SUGGESTED USE: Consume approximately 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day through a combination of high protein foods and supplements. For best results, consume your daily protein allotment over several small meals spread evenly throughout the day.

Rice Protein
Rice Protein- Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
- Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
- For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.
Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.
For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.
This supplement has been used in connection with the following health conditions:
Used for Amount Why AtherosclerosisRefer to label instructions
[1 star] Though not yet proven in clinical research, animal studies suggest that rice protein-based diets result in less buildup of atherosclerotic plaque compared with animal protein-based diets.
Athletic PerformanceRefer to label instructions
[1 star] Some athletes believe rice protein may also improve blood flow to muscle to enhance growth and repair. However, no research has investigated the effects of rice protein on athletic performance.
ObesityRefer to label instructions
[1 star] Dieters who are gluten or dairy sensitive and looking to supplement protein might consider rice protein, though its actual benefits for weight loss have not been studied.
Rice protein is extracted from rice and used in some protein supplements. Vegetarians may prefer it over protein supplements made from animal sources (such as whey or casein, which are milk proteins). Since rice is rarely involved in food allergies,1 rice protein may also be preferred by people with food allergies, and may be suitable to use in hypoallergenic infant formulas.2 Rice protein is not a complete protein, however, due to insufficient levels of the amino acids lysine and threonine.3, 4 Therefore, these amino acids are often added to rice protein products to correct this imbalance.

Comments about Optimum Nutrition 100% Egg Protein - Chocolate:
I had been battling with the whey product I was using. I decided to give this product a try. It has been great so far. Bloating is gone, easy to mix, and tastes good. I use it as recovery after my workout and love the amount of protein it has.

Comments about Optimum Nutrition 100% Egg Protein - Chocolate:
This is a good protein mix, but I think it's pretty salty tasting. I haven't tried another flavor yet to determine if it's the mix itself or just the chocolate flavoring, but it has 3 times the sodium the whey version has and it tastes very salty in comparison. Very easy to mix and the salty taste is diluted with vanila almond milk, flax seed, and almond butter mixed in. Good overall though for post workout.

Comments about Optimum Nutrition 100% Egg Protein - Chocolate:
Saw this on sale and was my first introduction to Egg protein. The chocolate flavor doesn't mask the flavor of chemicals. So if you breathe in while you are drinking it down, it is revolting enough to make you nauseous.
This could work if you mixed it with other things like peanut butter or bananas. But mixing it just with water makes a pretty nasty tastng shake.Pros

I purchased 2 tubs and have been trying out this out. The chocolate doesn't entirely mask the flavor of the base ingredients and so a little bit of a sour taste is present.

Comments about Optimum Nutrition 100% Egg Protein - Chocolate:
I purchased this product during a sale. It was over 50% off. Can't beat that!!! Flavoring is good so this drink goes down smooth, even when mixed with just water. I did sense a slight taste of egg, which was weird at first but only because it is different from the whey protein I normally drink. However I quickly got used to the flavor and don't mind it.

Comments about Optimum Nutrition 100% Egg Protein - Chocolate:
The first time I tried it, I thought it was my BCAA's and glutamine that I had mixed in - It was sour - REALLY sour.
I tried it again, this time sans BCAA's & Glutamine - same thing - really gross. This made me sad - my body is having a hard time with whey and I need another form - I am taking my jug O sour back and trying the GNC Brand Egg ProteinPros

Comments about Optimum Nutrition 100% Egg Protein - Chocolate:
I have tried a lot of different types of Proteins - Whey, Milk, Soy, Rice, even Beef! - and this is hands down the best tasting protein I have ever had. I mixed it in a single serving blender as I do with all my proteins and it mixed easily. This stuff tastes so good that I will even add my rice protein to it as a pre-workout protein. Since rice protein is basically unpalatable on its own, that's saying a lot for this stuff.
The main reason I switched to this stuff was because I discovered I had an allergic reaction to Whey that would cause my sinuses to get inflamed and produced excess mucus. It is a great alternative to whey - although not as fast acting as isolates, it still has a great Bioavailabilty profile. My only complaint is that you can find it for much less at other places, look to find a good deal.
It didn't give me gas, but its worth noting that when/if you do fart after consuming this stuff, you will likely clear the room you are in and could potentially knock yourself out. I guess its just part of the deal for a solid protein source.Displaying reviews 1-10
