Shaker - (EASIER: Quick & Convenient) Fill a shaker bottle with 6-8 fl oz of your favorite beverage. Add one scoop ON 100% Whey Gold Standard™. Cover and shake for 25-30 seconds.

GLASS & SPOON - (EASIEST - Fast & Simple) Simply add one scoop of ON 100% Whey Gold Standard™ to a tall glass. Add 6-8 fl oz of your favorite beverage. Mix with a spoon for about 20 seconds or until powder is well disbursed.

^^Don't forget to account for the calories, carbohydrates, protein, fat, and other nutrients that these foods contribute to your shake.

Suggested Use: To encourage a positive nitrogen balance, consume approximately 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day from a combination of high protein foods and supplemets. For even better results, consume your daily protein allotment over 4-6 small meals spread evenly throughout the day.

      Example: 180lb x 1g protein/lb body weight=180g day
      180g ÷ 6 small meals = 30 g protein/meal

Each serving of ON 100% Whey Gold Standard™ provides 24 grams of protein.

      Health Notes

      Whey Protein

      Whey Protein
This nutrient has been used in connection with the following health goals
      • Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
      • Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
      • For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.

Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.

For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

      Athletic Performance
Dose: 20 grams daily up to 1.2 grams of per 2.2 of pounds body weight per day

Animal studies suggest that whey protein can increase gains in lean body mass resulting from exercise.1 A controlled trial found that six weeks of strength training while taking 1.2 grams of whey protein per 2.2 of pounds body weight per day resulted in greater gains in lean body mass, but improved only one out of four strength tests.2 Another controlled study found that people taking 20 grams per day of whey protein for three months performed better on a test of short-term intense cycling exercise than people taking a similar amount of milk protein (casein).3 However, a double-blind trial found that men taking 1.5 grams per 2.2 lbs of body weight per day of predigested whey protein for 12 weeks along with a strength training exercise program gained only half as much lean body mass and had significantly smaller increases in strength compared with men using a similar amount of predigested casein along with strength training.4 A controlled study of HIV-infected women found that adding whey protein to strength training exercise was no more effective than exercise alone for increasing strength or improving body composition.5

      Dose: Refer to label instructions

Some whey proteins may reduce bone loss.1 Milk basic protein (MBP) is a mixture of some of the proteins found in whey protein. A preliminary trial found that 300 mg per day of MBP improved blood measures of bone metabolism in men, suggesting more bone formation was occurring than bone loss.2 A double-blind trial found that women taking 40 mg per day of MBP for six months had greater gains in bone density compared with those taking a placebo.3 No osteoporosis-related research has been done using complete whey protein mixtures.

      Obesity
      Dose: Refer to label instructions

Whey protein may aid weight loss due to its effect on appetite. In a preliminary study, people were given 48 grams of either whey protein or milk protein (casein). Whey consumption resulted in more hunger satisfaction and reduced the amount of food eaten 90 minutes later compared with casein consumption.1 However, a double-blind study found that men taking 1.5 grams per 2.2 lbs body weight per day of whey protein for 12 weeks along with a low-calorie diet and a strength training exercise program lost the same amount of weight and body fat as did a control group that followed a similar program, but took a casein supplement instead of whey protein.2

Whey protein is a mixture of some of the proteins naturally found in milk. The major proteins found in whey protein include beta-lactoglobulin and alpha-lactalbumin. Whey protein has one of the highest protein digestibility-corrected amino acid scores (PDCAAS; a measure of protein bioavailability) and is more rapidly digested than other proteins, such as casein (another milk protein). 1

Comments about Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard™ - Cookies N' Cream:

I am rather repulsed by this overly sweetened oxymoron of a product. Dont get me wrong its sweet and tasty but its the kind of annoying sweet flavor that's sits heavy in your stomach for quite some time. i found my self burping up cold cookies and cream whey protein shake for a good 2 hours. I'm going to try more types of whey but im thinking the pea protein is what im going to stick with. it dosent taste as good though fyi

I tend to use this prduct 30 minutes after every work out, and it def does the job. Muscle recovery time is quickened along with a great taste to quench your thirst.

The product itself mixes easily in a shaker and actually tastes close enough to cookies n' cream ( w/ a hint of coffee). If you're looking for a a protein product with great flavor ,i would definately give this flavor a shot.

Comments about Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard™ - Cookies N' Cream:

Ok, I have tried not tried many other protein powders besides Muscle Milk. I enjoyed the taste of M-M, but it was way too high priced and had too much fat for me. I am trying to gain lean muscle, and drop my fat percentage. This was a very nice price while on sale over the internet on GNC.

Taste: Overall, I have a small problem with the taste of protein shakes in general. I am not a picky eater, but just I am not the hugest fan of the taste. With that, I was not looking forward to trying this one. Once I figured out my ratio of water per scoop (around 10-12 ounces of water with one scoop), I am now falling in love with it! The water relieves some of the tastes I dislike, while does not take away from the greatness of the cookies and cream flavor!

Recovery: I go to my job directly after working out and was tired for the hours that I worked after my intense morning weights session. As soon as I started this routine, including the powder helped greatly! My recovery time was much much quicker.

Effective: I am one of the big guys of our class, but was slowly being passed up in the weight room by other, smaller guys. I was giving as much effort as they were, but I am not naturally built for strength or speed. This supplement has helped out so much! As a 15 year old, soon to be 16 in October, I need to bulk up fast for Football and Wrestling seasons. I will be sure to stick with this and I hope many otehr people will also. It's amazing!

Overall: It is a very nice product, great taste, and sufficiant in grams of Protien and such. I am glad I decided to go with this product. With so many positive reviews, it deserves a shot, don't ya think?

Mixes well and tastes 100times better than the [...] junk. I can mix a drink up with water no matter what I have to put it in. And I am no longer experienceing the long recovery times I used to deal with before using this after lifting. Worth every penny.!!
