ObesityRefer to label instructions [1 star] Dieters who are gluten or dairy sensitive and looking to supplement protein might consider rice protein, though its actual benefits for weight loss have not been studied.
Rice protein is extracted from rice and used in some protein supplements. Vegetarians may prefer it over protein supplements made from animal sources (such as whey or casein, which are milk proteins). Since rice is rarely involved in food allergies,1 rice protein may also be preferred by people with food allergies, and may be suitable to use in hypoallergenic infant formulas.2 Rice protein is not a complete protein, however, due to insufficient levels of the amino acids lysine and threonine.3, 4 Therefore, these amino acids are often added to rice protein products to correct this imbalance.

Purchased these to get protein in after gastric bypass. They do not taste good. Although they did go down a little better than protein powder. I drank it cold and could only get about five small sips down and had to stop.

This is a great product for weight loss surgery patients. If you are having trouble with appetite, or other issues, this is a great drink. It gives you 2/3's of your daily protein required. Plus it tastes like Koolaid. Just remember to refridgerate it before you drink it or pour it over ice.

I'm a couple days from weight loss surgery and on a clear liquid diet - then after surgery on clear liquids for two weeks after. Isopure was recommended by the surgeon and it is awesome. The taste is not overpowering or diet tasting. The GNC store representative was such a great help with explaining the benefits of Isopure - and - I lucked out with it being on sale -buy 3 get one free! Even better.

I use this product as a source for protein...I have been on this product since 2006..it has helped so much with the health issues that I have incurred ( Gastic Bypass, Cancer, Ketosis, Seizures) it has made it easier for me to keep my protein level up while I have been unableto eat..I have not much of an appetite and this does do wonders! I would tell anyone that has had problems in health that this product is GREAT!!

After gastric bypass surgery, your taste buds change drastically. Weird things catch you off guard. For me, my taste buds went into overdrive, and things I used to like were overwhelming. I can no longer handle most milk based protein drinks, and super fruity powders taste overwhelmingly like a mix of jello powder and milk. These things really saved me. I don't mind the undiluted taste too much, but I prefer to mix them 50/50 in a 30oz jug with cold water, so that I get 60 oz of fluid with the 40g of protein. My only complaint is that they come in a glass bottle.
