Whey Protein Isolates

THE BIGGER PICTURE OF WHEY - Whey protein Isolates are 90% pure protein by weight. They are the purest and most expensive form of whey protein that exists. That’s why they are the first ingredients you read on the 100% Whey Gold Standard™ label. By using Whey Protein Isolates as our primary protein source, we’re able to pack 24 grams of the purest, muscle-building protein per serving, with a lot less of the fat, cholesterol, lactose, and other stuff that you can do without. There’s no question this is the standard by which other whey proteins are measured.
BEYOND THE BASICS
  • Exclusive blend of Microfiltered and Ion-Exchange Whey Protein Isolates, Ultrafiltered Whey Protein Concentrate, and HYDROWHEY® Hydrolyzed Whey Peptides.
  • HIGHER PROTEIN PERCENTAGE (24 grams of protein, 75% protein by weight).
  • Includes HYDROWHEY®, strategically hydrolyzed, low molecular weight whey peptides to make protein faster acting.
  • Contains LACTASE and AMINOGEN® digestive enzymes to enhance utilization.
  • WHEY PROTEIN MICROFRACTIONS including Alpha-lactalbumin, Glycomacropeptides, Beta-lactoglobulin, Immunoglobulin G (lgG), Lactoferrin, Lactoperoxidase, and various growth factors.
  • Over 4 grams of GLUTAMINE & glutamine precursors.
  • More than 5 grams of BCAAs (Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine) in each scoop.

Health Notes

Whey Protein

Whey Protein
  • Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
  • Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
  • For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.

Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.

For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

This supplement has been used in connection with the following health conditions:

Whey protein is a mixture of some of the proteins naturally found in milk. The major proteins found in whey protein include beta-lactoglobulin and alpha-lactalbumin. Whey protein has one of the highest protein digestibility-corrected amino acid scores (PDCAAS; a measure of protein bioavailability) and is more rapidly digested than other proteins, such as casein (another milk protein). 1

Comments about Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard - Chocolate Malt:

I love the mocha cappuccino flavor, the extreme milk chocolate is good, but NOT this one... I usually mix with skim milk, which to me makes most protein powders taste much better. My first taste of the Chocolate Malt was with water and I wasn't sure I could finish. I'll give it one more try with milk.

Comments about Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard - Chocolate Malt:

I use this on a daily basis. Usually in the morning before any type of activity. The great taste prevents you from realizing that it is as low in sugar as it is. The amount of protein per serving is great. Waiting to purchase on sale brings the right price to a great product.

Comments about Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard - Chocolate Malt:

This is my first try of this ON Whey Protein. I had previously used the LEAN products which didn't work for me. Although I am not a chocolate fan, I chose this flavor over vanilla becuase in my experience vanilla seems to be "chalky". My person trainer recommended this for me and it is great! The taste is good and I use it prior to workouts (1-2 hours) and again right after to help in the recovery. I mix it with unsweetened blue diamond almond milk (vanilla) - very little sugar/fat/carbs (compared to regular milk, which is hard for me to digest).

Comments about Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard - Chocolate Malt:

I bought this b/c it was on sell at the time. Around $50ish at my local GNC and 5lbs and I saw decent reviews. I made a huge mistake. .

This is definitely the cheaper Whey. I understood that when I bought it, but it reflects so in the taste. This tastes like liquid hashbrowns or something disgusting. Top that off with it being extremely watery and this is absolute garbage.

I got the Double Rich Chocolate and it's much more acceptable. Still watery but the taste is more acceptable.
