What is Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™?
Looking for a protein that will help AMPlify your game? When it comes to enhancing your strength, size and stamina, nothing compliments your training regimen like Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™! It is GNC's top protein formula with a base of whey and leucine - proven in clinical studies to give you a 30% increase in strength, increased muscle size, and a 100% improvement in exercise efficiency.* That's better fuel for a stronger body - premium protein for ADVANCED MUSCLE PERFORMANCE.*

The Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™ Evolution
How is this protein AMPlified? GNC's scientists worked with leading exercise and sports nutrition experts and went beyond the extreme to develop this distinct product...

Highly Effective Whey-Leucine Base - The impressive 60 grams of protein is made entirely from the highest quality, fast-absorbing forms of whey protein - isolates and hydrolysates. With 7.7 grams of leucine, this creates an ideal environment for muscle protein synthesis. This potent blend upregulates multiple Genetic Signaling Pathways (GSP) to enhance anabolism and muscle performance.* In fact, the whey and leucine blend in Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™ has been shown to increase muscle strength and stamina with half the sets.*

Micronized Amino Acids - Using MicroSorb™ Amino Technology, the amino acids added to this formula are pulverized, or "micronized" from large molecules into smaller particles to facilitate faster absorption. Why is that important? Better absorption of amino acids means better muscle fuel. These key amino acids support muscle building and recovery.*

Amino Acceleration System
This digestive enzyme blend is designed to accelerate the availability and absorption of amino acids to be efficiently used by the muscles.

More Key Aminos - In addition to a whopping 7.7 grams of leucine - this formula is loaded with an array of aminos necessary for your muscles. This complex blend of amino acids delivers 3.6 grams of arginine, which is involved in creatine synthesis, and over 10 grams of glutamine providing anabolic effects. The amino acid L-carnitine is included to help transform fatty acids into energy for muscles and the body's energy production system.*

The Proof is in the Protein - and then some...
This cutting-edge formula is scientifically engineered to AMPlify your game.

Amino Acceleration System
Features an Amino Acceleration System - a digestive enzyme blend with proven bioactivity. This proprietary enzyme blend provides a 12% greater protein breakdown for improved amino acid uptake.**

Health Notes

Whey Protein

Whey Protein
This nutrient has been used in connection with the following health goals
  • Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
  • Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
  • For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.

Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.

For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

This supplement has been used in connection with the following health conditions:

Athletic Performance
Dose: 20 grams daily up to 1.2 grams of per 2.2 of pounds body weight per day

Animal studies suggest that whey protein can increase gains in lean body mass resulting from exercise.1 A controlled trial found that six weeks of strength training while taking 1.2 grams of whey protein per 2.2 of pounds body weight per day resulted in greater gains in lean body mass, but improved only one out of four strength tests.2 Another controlled study found that people taking 20 grams per day of whey protein for three months performed better on a test of short-term intense cycling exercise than people taking a similar amount of milk protein (casein).3 However, a double-blind trial found that men taking 1.5 grams per 2.2 lbs of body weight per day of predigested whey protein for 12 weeks along with a strength training exercise program gained only half as much lean body mass and had significantly smaller increases in strength compared with men using a similar amount of predigested casein along with strength training.4 A controlled study of HIV-infected women found that adding whey protein to strength training exercise was no more effective than exercise alone for increasing strength or improving body composition.5

Osteoporosis
Dose: Refer to label instructions

Some whey proteins may reduce bone loss.1 Milk basic protein (MBP) is a mixture of some of the proteins found in whey protein. A preliminary trial found that 300 mg per day of MBP improved blood measures of bone metabolism in men, suggesting more bone formation was occurring than bone loss.2 A double-blind trial found that women taking 40 mg per day of MBP for six months had greater gains in bone density compared with those taking a placebo.3 No osteoporosis-related research has been done using complete whey protein mixtures.

Obesity
Dose: Refer to label instructions

Whey protein may aid weight loss due to its effect on appetite. In a preliminary study, people were given 48 grams of either whey protein or milk protein (casein). Whey consumption resulted in more hunger satisfaction and reduced the amount of food eaten 90 minutes later compared with casein consumption.1 However, a double-blind study found that men taking 1.5 grams per 2.2 lbs body weight per day of whey protein for 12 weeks along with a low-calorie diet and a strength training exercise program lost the same amount of weight and body fat as did a control group that followed a similar program, but took a casein supplement instead of whey protein.2

Whey protein is a mixture of some of the proteins naturally found in milk. The major proteins found in whey protein include beta-lactoglobulin and alpha-lactalbumin. Whey protein has one of the highest protein digestibility-corrected amino acid scores (PDCAAS; a measure of protein bioavailability) and is more rapidly digested than other proteins, such as casein (another milk protein). 1

Comments about GNC Pro Performance® AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™ - Strawberry:

It's expensive, tastes great (in the strawberry), I mix it with vanilla whey protein along with other things in my blender.
I'm not a chemist, I have no idea how effective it is, I just keep working out.

Comments about GNC Pro Performance® AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™ - Strawberry:

I usually improve the flavor of not very good tasting protein shakes with fat free milk and a banana. The flavor of this is not enhanced with either of those things. It has a strong after taste.

Comments about GNC Pro Performance® AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™ - Strawberry:

I am a "regular" at GNC, especially with the platinum editions of this brand/product, and though the price is questionable it's by far one of the best proteins I have ever consumed. That being said, never and I repeat NEVER buy this product in strawberry flavor! It tastes almost radioactive and does not resemble strawberry in the slightest. I will definitely stick with chocolate from here on out. I highly recommend this product as long as it isn't strawberry.....

Comments about GNC Pro Performance® AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™ - Strawberry:

I love the AMP Products and have always used Vanilla as a go to flavor, since I like to blend berries with my shakes. I figure i should switch to strawberry to get an extra berry flavor. BAD IDEA!! If I mix it with berries, again as usual it tastes like pepto-bismol and has a bad after taste. The only way I can have it is if i mix a banana and no berries. I wouldn't buy this flavor again, going back to vanilla because i love the product though.

Comments about GNC Pro Performance® AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™ - Strawberry:

I use this product as a post-workout recovery drink after cycling for 50-70 miles. I've noticed it has helped. I used to take plain water or Gatorade G2. I started with the cookies and cream flavor and really liked the flavor but they were out of it when i went to purchase more so I thought i would try strawberry since it was much cheaper than the other flavors. The only thing i don't like is the after taste. Obviouslynthis critique is subjective, you may love it.

Comments about GNC Pro Performance® AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™ - Strawberry:

I was using Muscle Milk for the longest time, chocolate flavor, and always new the Calories were high, but continued using it because of the great taste.

Well I wanted to cut calories, so I switched to this Protein, by way of my buddies suggestion who works for GNC.

I am not disappointed, I was tired of chocolate flavors so I tried this one and Fruit Punch.

I like the Strawberry better, but the Fruit Punch, smells and tastes like Fruity Pebbles (cereal). I would recommend both. I switch between the two each day to mix it up. I use water only, and sometiimes ice.

The protein is effective and I use it everyday, would recommend to anyone!
