Whey Protein
Whey Protein- Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
- Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
- For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.
Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.
For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

Comments about ULTIMATE NUTRITION® ISO Sensation 93 - Natural:
Finding a good protein powder is actually pretty straightforward: you want to look at the ingredients -- the best whey protein powders will list whey protein isolate or hydrolyzed whey protein isolate as the very first ingredient. These are both very pure forms of protein (> 90% pure). The difference between these two proteins is that hydrolyzed protein has smaller protein fragments which are easier to digest than non-hydrolyzed whey protein isolate, but other than that one caveat, they are essentially the same. Other types of whey are not filtered as much (70-80% pure), which means you are getting some of the natural carbs that are found in milk along with the protein. While there is nothing inherently wrong with these extra carbs, most of us don't have any issues getting carbs in our diets, it's the protein we need to focus on.
With this in mind I picked the Ultimate Nutrition Iso Sensation. It has high quality isolate whey protein that is 94% pure protein. Compare that, for example, to the Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard which is 78.4% pure protein.Pros

Comments about ULTIMATE NUTRITION® ISO Sensation 93 - Natural:
I actually like the taste of this protein powder. It's subtle and tastes like watered down half and half. 30 grams of protein per serving, a ton of amino acids that really shorten the recovery time. I went from being sore for two days after my body weight training on other protein powders to being able to recover within 12-24 hours and go again. I don't think any other protein pwder has so many amno acids in it, it beats taking L-glutamine and BCAAs in pill form. I love this.
