Description
THE BIGGER PICTURE OF WHEY
Whey Protein Isolates are 90% pure protein by weight. They are the purest and most expensive form of whey protein that exists. That's why they are the first ingredients you read on the 100% Whey Gold Standard™ label. By using Whey Protein Isolates as our primary protein source, we're able to pack 24 grams of the purest, muscle-building protein per serving, and a lot less of the fat, cholesterol, lactose, and other stuff that you can do without. There's no question this is the standard by which other whey proteins are measured.

THE ADVANCED GOLD STANDARD WHEY PROTEIN BLEND:
100% Whey Gold Standard™ is made of an exclusive blend of:
  • Microfiltered Whey Protein Isolats
  • Ion-Exchanged Whey Protein Isolates
  • Ultrafiltered Whey Protein Concentrate
  • HYDROWHEY® Hydrolyzed Whey Peptides
BEYOND THE BASICS
  • Packed with Whey Protein Isolates (WPI)
  • HIGHER PROTEIN PERCENTAGE (24 grams of protein; over 81% protein in weight).
  • Includes HYDROWHEY®, strategically hydrolyzed, low molecular weight whey peptides to make protein faster acting
  • Contains LACTASE and AMINOGEN® digestive enzymes to enhance utilization
  • WHEY PROTEIN MICROFRACTIONS including Alpha-lactalbumin, Glycomacropeptides, Beta-lactoglobulin, Immunoglobulin G (IgG), Lactoferrin, Lactoperoxidase, and various growth factors
  • Over 4 grams of GLUTAMINE & glutamine precursors
  • More than 5 grams of BCAAs (Leucine, Isoleucin, and Valine) in each scoop

Supplement Facts
SPOON STIRRED: 100% Whey Gold Standard™ is INSTANTIZED. That means if you forgot your shaker cup or don't have time to get out the blender, you can just add one rounded scoop of 100% Whey Gold Standard™ to a glass filled with 6-8 oz. of water, nonfat milk or your favorite beverage. Then mix it up with a spoon. Stir for about 20 seconds or until powder is completely dissolved.

SHAKER: Bringing a shaker cup with you to the gym is the best way to get a powerful dose of protein immediately after your workout. Just add one rounded scoop of 100% Whey Gold Standard™ to your shaker cup and then pour in 6-8 oz of your preferred beverage. Cover and shake for 25-30 seconds. TIP: Mixing one scoop with 6-8 oz. of nonfat milk instead of water will give you a thicker, creamier shake.

BLENDER: Add one rounded scoop of 100% Whey Gold Standard™ to a blender filled with 6-8 oz. of water, nonfat milk, or your favorite beverage. Blend for 20-30 seconds. Then add 1 or 2 ice cubes and blend for an additional 30 seconds. SHAKE UP YOUR SHAKE: By adding a few high-energy ingredients to your shake you can blend up a delicious meal: try adding fresh or frozen fruits (strawberries, bananas, etc.), peanut butter, flaxseed oil, unflavored yogurt, coconut, slivered almonds, or other ingredients. STACK YOUR SHAKE: By adding other supplements including creatine, glutamine, taurine (e.g. CGT10), and/or BCAA powders you can make 100% Whey Gold Standard™ an even more powerful post-workout recovery product.

SUGGESTED USE: Consume approximately 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day through a combination of high protein foods and protein supplements. For the best results, consume your daily protein allotment over several small meals spread evenly throughout the day.

Health Notes

Whey Protein

Whey Protein
  • Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
  • Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
  • For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.

Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.

For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

Comments about Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard™ - Mocha Cappuccino:

While I am a beginner as far as serious lifting goes, I have been using protein shakes for quite some time. I have been searching for a quality coffee flavored protein for a while, and this is it! This stuff tastes great with water, but even better with 8 oz of 1% milk! I use a blender to mix, so that mixing is never an issue for me.

I have tried other protein shakes such as Amplify, GnC Amplified, Dymatize, and MusclePharm and this is the best by far. They say you should not judge a protein powder by its taste, which I agree with, but there is nothing wrong with a good quality protein that tastes great too!

Make sure to drink enough grams of protein for your weight. There are 24 grams per scoop so I drink 8 scoops a day (192g, I weigh 190 lbs). I workout 4 times a week. This stuff tastes great! Quickens recovery time.

If you like those restaurant Mocha Cappucinos, blend this with milk or Almond Breeze then combine with ice in a blender for an icy drink that rivals those famous restaurant drinks. Absolutely delicious! (If you topped it with a squirt of whipped cream and a ribbon of chocolate syrup, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.....except this is better for you!) Excellent...kudos! I love this as a meal replacement and my weight-lifting son loves it as a workout recovery.

I find most protein supplements extremely sweet and/or with a fake sugar aftertaste. This protein mix is the best of the many (25 or more) brands and flavors that I've tried. It is hard to mix out all the clumps but if you let it stand for 5 minutes or so most of the clumps will end up disolving into the milk/water.

I have been using Optimum Protein since 2005 following gastric bypass surgery to maintain my weight loss and make sure I was getting enough protein. Out of all the flavors I have tried this is by far my favorite. I often add a tsp. of instant coffee to my morning shake for a little pick me up.I also give my 14y/o a shake before school to make sure he starts his day off right. His favorite is chocolate mint. When his friends stay over they want shakes too. We love the product.
