Clinically proven to be gentle on the stomach - 18 mg of iron - Vegetarian Capsules
Iron is vital nutrient that plays an essential role in forming healthy red blood cells and transporting oxygen.* It is also involved in energy utilization and muscle function.* Unfortunately many people should be supplementing with iron do not due to concern of stomach distress. GNC Gentlesorb Iron is a unique form that closely mimics the iron found in natural, organic sources. This iron is bound to amino acids which function like a "cage," surrounding and protecting the mineral. Clinical studies have demonstrated that this form of iron is effectively absorbed and well-tolerated.

Iron
Iron- Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
- Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
- For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.
Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.
For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

Iron is an essential mineral. It is part of hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying component of the blood. Iron-deficient people tire easily in part because their bodies are starved for oxygen. Iron is also part of myoglobin, which helps muscle cells store oxygen. Without enough iron, adenosine triphosphate (ATP; the fuel the body runs on) cannot be properly synthesized. As a result, some iron-deficient people become fatigued even when their hemoglobin levels are normal (i.e., when they are not anemic).

Comments about GNC Gentlesorb Iron:
This stuff is a miracle worker. My hands and feet were always freezing and nothing seemed to help. After a week of taking it I feel so much better! You have to take it on an empty stomach or it won't absorb properly, wait at least an hour to eat.... Don't take it with milk, yogurt, calcium, or zinc. It will not absorb if you do. The doctor said I wasn't Anemic but Dr. Oz said you may still have low iron levels even if you don't test positive for Anemia. I can't believe what difference it has made. I didn't expect it to start working so fast!

Comments about GNC Gentlesorb Iron:
I really wanted to take the iron supplement but after about a week of use I became constipated and I had to stop taking. I was really bummed because I believed it would have been a great fix for my tiredness right before my monthly cycle. I guess I wasted [$] b/c nothing is worse than that feeling and I think I would rather be tired than be constipated :)

Comments about GNC Gentlesorb Iron:
Well I'm only on my 1st week n so far so good..I'm severely anemic and because I couldn't stand the effects of taking the regular iron pills I was getting iron through IV @ the hospital. It's becomes painful and the worst is getting bruises from the needles, so now I will try this and in a month I will go to my doctor and check if my #s have gone up, if so then I will stick to these for a long time!
