Fenugreek
FenugreekCommon names:Fenugreek Seeds- Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
- Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
- For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.
Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.
For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

Comments about NATURES WAY Nature's Way® Fenugreek Seed:
I take this product to aid in milk production and to keep up the supply. I would only use this product for this purpose due to the side effects that it has caused me in the beginning. The good thing is that if you use it correctly it will give good results. the bad thing is though side effects are brief, they are still there.

Comments about NATURES WAY Nature's Way® Fenugreek Seed:
I read on a breastfeeding website that you should take a bit more of this supplement than is listed on the bottle's directions. On day 1, I took 3 pills, 3 times per day, and the following day I pumped 6 more ounces of milk! I took the same amount of pills the 2nd day, and only 3 pills on the 3rd day. On days 2 and 3, I didn't pump because I was at home, but I was able to feed my baby without supplementing with formula. It was a 5-day holiday weekend, and at no time did I need to supplement, nor did I take any additional pills after those first 3 days. After the 5-day holiday, I pumped 16 ounces each day for 2 days in a row, and also breastfed my baby in the evenings when I got home from work with no problem. (That brings me to today, and I am still going strong.) The side effects for me included that maple-syrup smell in urine/sweat, and it also upset my stomach, but it was only for a few days, so I thought it was worth it. The best thing is that, once your supply is increased, you can stop taking the pills.
Comments about NATURES WAY Nature's Way® Fenugreek Seed:
I bought this brand through [...] to replace my bottle of GNC brand that was empty. I am using it to increase my milk supply. The GNC brand was working great, but you have to take a lot of these pills in order to see results. I was taking four pills about 3 times a day. You know it's working when you start smelling like maple syrup. My milk supply definitely increased and my husband commented that the baby smelled like maple syrup. The Nature's Way capsules don't smell sweet like the other ones I was taking and my milk supply has dropped off again. I have to wonder if there is really any Fenugreek in these capsules.I am going to purchase another bottle of GNC brand right now and see if my milk increases again.
