Nettle
NettleCommon names:Nettles- Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
- Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
- For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.
Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.
For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

Nettle is a leafy plant that is found in most temperate regions of the world. The root and leaves of nettle are used in herbal medicine.

Comments about GNC HERBAL PLUS STANDARDIZED GNC Herbal Plus® Whole Herb Stinging Nettle:
1. stinging nettles works great for hay fever and also if you are allergic to cats.
2. a dose is two capsules...but if you're allergies are bad you can go to 4 or even 6.
3. a dose lasts about 4 hrs and takes about 20 minutes to kick in.
4. not only are there no side effects, nettles are actually good for you. on high pollen days you can take 4 capsules doses all day (i have really really bad hay fever and cat allergy).
5. the GNC stinging nettles are better than stinging nettles from other brands. i don't know if it's the "fingerprint technology" they claim or what, just that their quality and strength are consistently high.
6. in hay fever season i also take zyrtec. larger doses of zyrtec are ineffective. you can supplement your zyrtec with nettles or just do nettles.
7. if you're going to visit someone with cats...take these pills in advance and more when you get home and the next day and that will significantly reduce the allergic response.Pros

I take four of these at night. I've tried several other brands, but none seem to be as effective as this GNC product. It really does seem to reduce the effects of my allergies.
