Menopause
Menopause- Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
- Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
- For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.
Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.
For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

Menopause is the cessation of the monthly female menstrual cycle. Women who have not had a menstrual period for a year are considered postmenopausal.
Most commonly, menopause takes place when a woman is in her late forties or early fifties. Women who have gone through menopause are no longer fertile. Menopause is not a disease and cannot be prevented. Many hormonal changes occur during menopause. Postmenopausal women are at higher risk of heart disease and osteoporosis, presumably because of a decrease in the production of estrogen or other hormones.

Comments about GNC Women's Phyto-Estrogen Formula:
Been using this along with GNC's Progesterone Cream for hot flashes & night sweats. Has helped more with the night sweats. They are down to 1 or 2 a night from some nights having them 10+ a nite. I have noticed a slight decrease in hot flashes & also that they tend not to last as long. I've only been using it for a couple of weeks so I hope the longer I'm on the products the better they will work. Will also have to see how effective they are once the hot weather (90+ degree humid Florida days) arrives.

Comments about GNC Women's Phyto-Estrogen Formula:
This is the first review I have ever taken time to write and I am doing so because this has truly been a miracle for me. I am 46 and have suffered from HORRIBLE "want to peel my skin off" hot flashes for two years. When I was first told I was peri-menopausal, I took black cohosh and soy, which gave me NO relief. So, I ended up taking estrogen replacment medication, which resulted in horrible side effects. A couple of months ago this product was on sale 1/2 price. So I thought, what the heck, I will try this one. AND IT HAS BEEN A MIRACLE! I have not had ONE hot flash, while I was taking these daily. I thought I would experiment and see what happened if I stopped and I had 3 different hot flashes the night after I didn't take one. SO for me, I am convinced it helps me and I am soooo very happy! If you are suffering from any menopausal symptions, especially hot flashes, I urge you give this a try!
