Why Do Athletes Use It?*

Some athletes say that creatine monohydrate helps build muscle mass and improves performance and delays muscle fatigue during short-duration, high-intensity exercise, such as sprinting or weight lifting.

What Do the Advocates Say?*

Creatine is best for the serious bodybuilder. It helps increase muscle mass, rather than muscle endurance, so it's not well suited for athletes participating in endurance activities. However, the increase in muscle mass may be due to water retention and not an increase in muscle tissue.

How Much Is Usually Taken by Athletes?

Over 40 double-blind or controlled studies have found creatine supplementation (typically 136 mg per pound of body weight per day or 15 to 25 grams per day for five or six days) improves performance of either single or repetitive bouts of short-duration, high-intensity exercise lasting under 30 seconds each.1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Examples of this type of exercise include weightlifting; sprinting by runners, cyclists, or swimmers; and many types of athletic training regimens for speed and power. About 15 studies did not report enhancement by creatine of this type of performance. These have been criticized for their small size and other research design problems, but it is possible that some people, especially elite athletes, are less likely to benefit greatly from creatine supplementation.8

Long-term use of creatine supplementation is typically done using smaller daily amounts (2 to 5 grams per day) after an initial loading period of several days with 20 grams per day. Very little research has been done to investigate the exercise performance effects of long-term creatine supplementation. One study reported that long-term creatine supplementation improved sprint performance.9 Four controlled long-term trials using untrained women,10 trained men,11 or untrained older adults found that creatine improved gains made in strength and lean body mass from weight-training programs.12, 13 However, two controlled trials found no advantage of long-term creatine supplementation in weight-training football players.14, 15

    I have been working out without Creatine for about 5 years now. I wish I would have discovered using this when I started. I have been at a stuck point for a few months now, and I discovered this product. Within a week and a half I have seen immediate gains in my weight with everything I am doing. Great product that actually works with no side effect. If your looking for real results this is one thing you definitely need to be adding to your stack.

    I decided to try this on sale about 2 weeks ago. I have currently been on it for a week and can already see results during and after my workouts. It helps both with workouts and recovery. Personally I have found it useful to cut the pills in half so that they digest easier and to take them with juice (or any other sugary drink) so that they metabolize better. I have already recommended this to a friend and will probably recommend to more.

            I take the recommended 2 pills per day. Gains seem to come regardless of taking them before, during, or after workout. No side effects detected, unlike other forms of creatine. I have been a regular at the gym for about 20 years (5 days per week - cardio and lifting) and had my share of plateaus, and setbacks. I have had slow, but very steady gains with this stuff over the last couple of months, without change in diet or workout. I am now exceeding my previous max on biceps, shoulders, and quads. The rest is following right behind. At this cheap of a price for a 2 month supply, it is more than worth trying, to see if it works for you.

                Doesn't retain water n I saw a lot of size in my arms. Hydrochloride creatine is absorbed faster than monohydrate that needs sugar to be absorb.

                This is a GREAT product, I have used it several different cycles and primarily toward the end of high school. I am now in my second year of college and decided to amp up(no pun intended) my workouts. So I went back to this great creatine, and have seen significant gains as well as improvements in strength and endurance over the past 3 weeks of taking it.

                ***The only drawback is you will need to crush up the tablets before ingesting them or they will just pass through your system. But for the price you can't go wrong.

                I would suggest ingesting before or after your workout... or once daily with apple juice in order to achieve an insulin spike that will carry the creatine to your muscle. You will not notice any changes in strength until around your second week... this is when it is fully absorbed into your muscles. I also would recommend making sure that you are taking in enough protein(I suggest Whey)

                  take it compare to old weight i used to use from a week ago. Couldn't shoulder press 140lbs once now a week later i shoulder pressed 150lbs three times no help. And still felt strong after. wasn't tired. Everything went up alot actually this January I hope to bench 405 for the first time!
