Description
500 mg of krill oil enhanced omega absorption.
Clinically proven to promote joint and heart health.
Provides enhanced antioxidant protection.
Easy to swallow

GNC UltraOmega Krill Oil features 500 mg of clincially proven Neptune Krill Oil. Krill are tiny crustaceans that are harvested from the cold waters of the Antarctic.
Neptune Krill Oil Benefits:
  • Delivers superior bioavailability of the omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, compared to other omega-3 source. These omega-3 fatty acids are uniquely bound to phospholipids, enhancing their absorption.
  • Fast-acting, clinically proven to improve joint comfort and function.
  • Clinically proven to reduce C-Reactive Protein (CRP) levels by 30% a key marker of joint and heart health.
  • Provides critical antioxidants like astaxanthin with higher antioxidant activity than other popular antioxidants to combat harmful free radicals associated with cell-aging

In a randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled clinical study, 87 volunteers were supplemented with either 300 mg of Neptune Krill Oil or placebo. After 30 days, subjects receiving Neptune Krill Oil had a significant decrease in CRP, a biomarker for heart and joint health, as well as significant improvements in joint comfort, joint function and stiffness.

Health Notes

Krill Oil

Krill Oil
This nutrient has been used in connection with the following health goals
  • Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
  • Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
  • For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.

Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.

For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

Dysmenorrhea
Dose: 2 grams daily for one month; after that, 2 grams per day beginning eight days prior to menstruation and continuing for two days after the start In a double-blind trial, women with PMS took 2 grams of either krill oil from Antarctic krill (a zooplankton crustacean) or fish oil for one month, followed by two months in which the women took their supplement beginning eight days prior to menstruation and continuing for two days after the start of menstruation. Krill is a shrimp-like crustacean that grows abundantly in the ocean.1 Krill from colder ocean regions is high in EPA and DHA, the same omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil.Krill oil also contains phospholipids and antioxidants such as the carotenoid astaxanthin.2, 3 Animal research has found that a diet high in krill oil can significantly increase antioxidant activity and decrease potentially damaging free radicals in the liver.4

Comments about GNC Ultra Omega Krill Oil:

This gelcap is slightly larger than my old name-brand product, but it is also 500 mg as opposed to the 300 mg I was getting for the same price. They are still much smaller than the fish oil pills, anyway. There is just a slight smell, but it is acceptable and there is no aftertaste. I am ordering for the second time today and will continue to do so as long as the price is right.

In the past, I would take two large fish oil pills, now I only have to take one tiny Omega Krill pill daily.

Plus, it's more effective and does more to fight my high cholesterol..!

My doctor recommended I take fish oil daily due to high cholesterol. I was not aware until recently that fish oil can can rancid, though Krill oil does not. The product though having a slight smell, does not have any after effects, i.e. burping. Given its small size it is very easy to swallow.
I will continue to buy this product.

Comments about GNC Ultra Omega Krill Oil:

I was taking two TriFlex each day for a couple of months and there was still a slight pain in my back. I cut out a TriFlex and added a Krill Oil to my daily routine. The pain went away. My elbows don't hurt when working in the yard. Wish I had added the Triflex and Krill to my routine years ago. I don't have any after taste or other issues with these products. I feel so much better. I take the supplements right after breakfast. In addition I take a MegaMen Sport Vitamin at the same time. Then a second after lunch. These products are a positive change in my life. At 50 years old I feel better than when my back first went out 10 years ago.
