What Do the Advocates Say?*
Research suggests that conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) may help to reduce body fat and increase muscle. The research supporting CLA's ability to help reduce body fat is good, but more is needed. There are at least seven human studies (two are double-blind and the others are controlled) showing significant reduction of abdominal obesity and body fat mass in overweight and moderately obese people. However, since most of the studies involved a small number of participants and were short in duration, larger double-blind studies are needed to further document the benefits and mechanisms of action.
Although CLA promotes weight loss, which is good for heart health, it is important to moniter cholesterol levels as it may reduce HDL ("good") cholesterol.
How Much Is Usually Taken by Dieters?
A double-blind trial found that exercising individuals taking 1,800 mg per day of CLA lost more body fat after 12 weeks than a similar group taking a placebo.1 However, two other studies found that amounts of CLA from 0.7 to 3.0 grams per day did not affect body composition.2, 3 Most double-blind trials have found that larger amounts of CLA, 3.4 to 4.2 grams per day, does reduce body fat;4, 5, 6 however, one double-blind study of experienced strength-training athletes reported no effect of 6 grams per day of CLA on body fat, muscle mass, or strength improvement.7

I really like the energy vita paks. They are convenient for mw with everything I need in 1 pack. I have been taking them for over 1 month and I notice a big difference in my energy levels. I was taking Centrum previously and I can definitely tell the difference in how I feel. When I miss a Vita pak, I can feel the difference in my energy levels, whereas; with Centrum I couldn't tell any difference with taking them or not taking them. I wish that the pills in the vita pak were smaller and/or easier to swallow, but I just make sure I take them with plenty of water and after I have eaten something to prevent nausea. Other than that, they work very well and I plan to continue using them.

I have been using this for 2 weeks. I have not seen progress in the way of weight loss, but I am not using this product as a weight loss mechanism. I like the added energy, and have been able to cut out other caffeine sources. I am getting better sleep, and getting more done in a day, I can wake up at 5am with less difficulty for my workouts, and my fingernails, skin and hair are looking great. The biggest perk that I noticed however, was that I completely missed out on PMS symptoms this month. I had zero cramping, bloating, or mooodiness/irritability; all of which usually come together and make me want to hide under my covers for 4 days each month. That said I have never been regular at taking vitamins, so perhaps this would be true of any vitamin. I may possibly attempt to achieve these results using a supplementing plan with fewer/smaller pills (I could take larger ones if there weren't SIX of them), but for now I am happy to finish this box and carry on feeling great.

I started 3 days ago and thus far it has been some what of a production to get all of the pills down in the morning. I eat before I take them and then about 30-45 mins after as well, so I don't feel sick like I did the first day. I love that they are all together in their little package but they taste really bad and are just way too big for me.

These little packs are great. From the day I started taking them I noticed a large change in my energy level. I did not feel shaky or "buzzed" I just noticed I actually had energy to get through the work day, my afternoon workout and my evenings at home with my 2 year old son. I have been taking them for about 2 weeks and have lost a little over 7 lbs. I believe these helped jump start a weight loss plateau that I was on. Will definitely continue these as part of my daily routine. My only complaint is that I wish they would include an Omega 3,6,9 to the vitapak so I don't have to bring along 2 more vitamins.

Bought these when the clerk convinced me to buy them instead of Green Coffee Bean pills. Have been taking them for over a week, I have not lost any weight and I am still tired all the time!! The pills are giant and taste awful. Will return them and get the Green Coffee Beans that I wanted originally. For those that have lost weight, I believe it was your hard work and dedication to the gym, not these pills!

I bought two packs on the BOGO 1/2 off. I returned the 2nd unopened pack. I could not stand to use this product anymore than 1/2 of the first one. It smelled horrible just opening the packet made me not want to take them daily - super strong vitamin smell. All of the vitamins are also really big and I had to take a big gulp of water just to swallow each one.

I was very happy with the GNC Energy & Metabolism vitamins I was taking prior to this product, but the clerk talked me into the Active Vitapak so I thought I'd give it a try. At first I took them all at once, after breakfast, which made me feel "off". I read some reviews and modified my routine to take them throughout the day instead, which helped make me feel less jittery and nauseous. However, I took the packs for a month and didn't feel it helped my daily workouts in any way. If anything I felt less focused and distracted because the caffein had me so amped up. It may be a good Vitapak for exercise beginners or women who need the extra energy in their day, but for the cost I didn't feel I saw any benefits or results. I'm switching back to the much more cost-effective Energy vitamins!
