Health Notes

Evening Primrose Oil

Evening Primrose Oil
  • Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a substantial health benefit.
  • Contradictory, insufficient, or preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health benefit.
  • For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support.

Our proprietary "Star-Rating" system was developed to help you easily understand the amount of scientific support behind each supplement in relation to a specific health condition. While there is no way to predict whether a vitamin, mineral, or herb will successfully treat or prevent associated health conditions, our unique ratings tell you how well these supplements are understood by the medical community, and whether studies have found them to be effective for other people.

For over a decade, our team has combed through thousands of research articles published in reputable journals. To help you make educated decisions, and to better understand controversial or confusing supplements, our medical experts have digested the science into these three easy-to-follow ratings. We hope this provides you with a helpful resource to make informed decisions towards your health and well-being.

This supplement has been used in connection with the following health conditions:

In a double-blind study of alcoholics in a detox program, supplementing with EPO led to greater improvement than did placebo in some parameters of liver function.
Atherosclerosis

Comments about GNC Women's Evening Primrose Oil 1300:

I read an article in reference to night sweats/flashes for women and decided to give it a try. It has definitely helped me and definitely can tell a difference when I don't take it. It has decreased the occurrences of night sweats. I would recommend this product for women.

This product is great! I will recommend it to anybody at any time. I have suffered hot flashes and dry cervical mucus for quite some time. I decided to use this product though I brought it long time ago and for whatever reason refused to use it. I started using this product 1 month ago, my hot flashes stopped and also ovulated with good amount of CM. Great product!!!

Comments about GNC Women's Evening Primrose Oil 1300:

I have suffered from PMDD/PMS for years. Doctors wanted me to take antidepressants and birthcontrols & I tried it about 3 years ago- ended up with IBS!!! Went off all synthetic medications. I take Evening Primrose 3 x a day and had NO PMS symptoms this month. I am so happy that I have finally found something that works!!! Oh and I take St. John's Wart and Aloe... all three together is really helping my IBS symptoms too.
