What Do the Advocates Say?*
Protein is necessary for rebuilding tissue-this is especially important for bodybuilders. All types of protein provide the body with amino acids. From an athletic point of view, whey is just another type of protein. Choosing whey protein over other types of protein simply adds variety to the protein choices available.
Whey is a common ingredient in many meal replacements, which are designed to provide a large amount of nutrients in a minimal amount of calories.
How Much Is Usually Taken by Athletes?
Animal studies suggest that whey protein can increase gains in lean body mass resulting from exercise.1 A controlled trial found that six weeks of strength training while taking 1.2 grams of whey protein per 2.2 of pounds body weight per day resulted in greater gains in lean body mass, but improved only one out of four strength tests.2 Another controlled study found that people taking 20 grams per day of whey protein for three months performed better on a test of short-term intense cycling exercise than people taking a similar amount of milk protein (casein).3 However, a double-blind trial found that men taking 1.5 grams per 2.2 lbs of body weight per day of predigested whey protein for 12 weeks along with a strength-training exercise program gained only half as much lean body mass and had significantly smaller increases in strength compared with men using a similar amount of predigested casein along with strength training.4 A controlled study of HIV-infected women found that adding whey protein to strength-training exercise was no more effective than exercise alone for increasing strength or improving body composition.5

If you need an energy boost pre-workout to help burn fat, then on that alone I would recommend this. I drank it 30-40 minutes before starting my workout, and the results are no joke - if you don't start working out within 40 minutes, you are jittery! But I tore through my workout, even added resistance and felt great after!
I would not mess with anything caffeinated the rest of the day, the energy boost lasts long past the workout.
The taste, however, is pretty foul. I added a stevia packet the second day, and it only slightly helped it. There's a very bitter aftertaste to it which is not pleasant. But, you can get around it by drinking it quickly or perhaps adding something to sweeten or dilute it. If the taste were better, it would be 5 stars no question.- Gender:

This is the worst tasting stuff I have ever tried and I have tried quite a few. There is a spicy taste to this which is horrible. I havent even worked out with this as it was that bad. I even tried using a juice to make it taste better.

Using this product and it was hard to take it down but the pump from it is so amazing that I needed it, I have used NO-xplod, jacked etc this stuff is great, I read on a review to mix with a few ounces of Gatorade or power-aid, that made a world of difference.

This product gives you energy, and a good tingle that makes you want to MOVE. The taste is almost peppery, and the tingle is also. It makes you sweat. I found that if you mix with a few ounces of Blue Gator/Power-aid, you can chug it down for a good workout. Wouldnt Dare try with water. Good focus, and Energy, if you can get past the taste

I have used other name brand pre workouts and none of them have matched the intensity, focus, and dilation I get from Ravage. It is not one of the most delicious ones (though the fruit punch is better than grape) but the taste doesn't matter when I get the great results. I feel the intensity within 15 minutes and can always count on a focused workout. I tried to settle for other brands.... nothing compared! Had to return to Ravage. Name says it all.

I usually use C4 but thought I would see what another brand did for me. I tried this two times and both times I did not even get a full hours workout in before I was saying time to go home. I generally spend 2.5 hrs between the weights and 30 or less cardio but I just couldn't do it with this product.

Bought this product just because i was curious to see how it worked. I can usually get bad tasting stuff down, but this was just terrible. I managed to chug it and actualy almost threw up it tasted so bad. Even after all that i felt nothing and had no benefits.
