What Do the Advocates Say?*
Protein is necessary for rebuilding tissue-this is especially important for bodybuilders. All types of protein provide the body with amino acids. From an athletic point of view, whey is just another type of protein. Choosing whey protein over other types of protein simply adds variety to the protein choices available.
Whey is a common ingredient in many meal replacements, which are designed to provide a large amount of nutrients in a minimal amount of calories.
How Much Is Usually Taken by Athletes?
Animal studies suggest that whey protein can increase gains in lean body mass resulting from exercise.1 A controlled trial found that six weeks of strength training while taking 1.2 grams of whey protein per 2.2 of pounds body weight per day resulted in greater gains in lean body mass, but improved only one out of four strength tests.2 Another controlled study found that people taking 20 grams per day of whey protein for three months performed better on a test of short-term intense cycling exercise than people taking a similar amount of milk protein (casein).3 However, a double-blind trial found that men taking 1.5 grams per 2.2 lbs of body weight per day of predigested whey protein for 12 weeks along with a strength-training exercise program gained only half as much lean body mass and had significantly smaller increases in strength compared with men using a similar amount of predigested casein along with strength training.4 A controlled study of HIV-infected women found that adding whey protein to strength-training exercise was no more effective than exercise alone for increasing strength or improving body composition.5

This product is great! Ive gained 5 pounds in 2 weeks! Taste great with Milk and a bananna and ive been ganing only muscle weight, and ive actauuly seen less fat on my body. I've been using this product for a couple of months, I can go to 12 different GNCs and this will always be recommended. I wonder why... It does work, it works slowly. First 2 months I used it, I gained 9 pounds in that time. Now I'm on my 3rd container and in 2 weeks I might of gained a pound. The calorie count if you take all 3 scoops is good, but if you are skinny and trying to gain weight you need to eat a lot. It takes more than just mass gainer. The problem with this mass gainer is that it is too filling. Its as filling as a normal slimming protein shake, if not then more. Which does not work well for skinny people with high metabolisms if they are getting full. Once you know your Resting Metabolic Rate, you want to take in loads more calories than the amount you burn while resting. Once you add in exercise and strength training you have to add in loads more calories. Unless you are taking 2 full servings of this a day and still eating 3000 calories or more in food. You most likely won't gain weight or will eventually gain it very slowly with this product because it literally leaves you too full even if you do half the serving size. I will try Russian Bear next because with milk it promises up to 5000 calories per serving. It will have you gain weight according to people I know who used it. Rebuilt Mass i think is best for someone who has hit their target weight but will like to slowly increase that weight while becoming more lean by a mix of cardio and strength training workouts. If you are skinny and want to gain weight fast this product is not the right item, unless you want to hurl up or excrete half of what you eat. It is just too heavy in the stomach. Shoot for high calories, low carbs, and consume a little over your weight in protein (if you are 130 pounds, then 130+ grams in protein). Your body will waste some of the protein so it is better to take a little more. Nothing you drink should be this filling if you want to gain weight. It is too expensive for the little it does offer. I work out 5 days a week, religiously. I do mostly strength training and abs. I give myself 1 day of cardio a week. This product just doesn't work fast enough because it does not leave you wanting more foods and calories which is not good for weight gaining. If you are skinny and want to gain weight I recommend between 3,800-6,000 calories a day if you have intense strength and ab training mixed in. This should be half the cost, after your first initial gain, it is no longer a true mass gainer. I would recommend it for other reasons.

Started lifting again really hard after I got out of military training and got on post. I had used the Chocolate Brownie mix before and thought it tasted great, as well as I was seeing very nice gains. So I figured I'd give the cookies and cream a try, but that didn't work out at planned. It tastes absolutely terrible, to the point where my bro tasted it and just threw me a 2lb-er of his stuff. It also upsets my stomach, which is very abnormal for how many products I have used as post-workouts. All in all, I would not recommend this product. Might be great for some people, but not for me.

First mixed 1.5 scoops with just milk and the taste was terrible! But after a few tries i got something that tastes great! 6 OZ water, 1.5 scoops of re build mass vanilla cake battter, fill up shaker to 16 OZ with 2% millk, then add an egg for a little extra. Really tastes great!

Stick with the Amplified Mass XXX. This RAW stuff requires 40g more powder to get fewer calories with only slightly more protein - not to mention it's more expensive. If you want more protein, just add a bit more of the AMXXX to your shake.
