Obesity
Dose: 3.2 to 4.2 grams dailyA double-blind trial found that exercising individuals taking 1,800 mg per day of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) lost more body fat after 12 weeks than did a similar group taking a placebo.1 However, two other studies found that amounts of CLA from 0.7 to 3.0 grams per day did not affect body composition.2, 3 Most double-blind trials have found that larger amounts of CLA, 3.2 to 4.2 grams per day, do reduce body fat;4, 5, 6, 7 however, one double-blind study of experienced strength-training athletes reported no effect of 6 grams per day of CLA on body fat, muscle mass, or strength improvement.8

Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a slightly altered form of the essential fatty acid linoleic acid. Animal research suggests an effect of CLA supplementation on reducing body fat.1, 2 Controlled human research has reported that 5.6 to 7.2 grams per day of CLA produces only non-significant gains in muscle size and strength in experienced and inexperienced weight-training men.3, 4, 5 A double-blind study of a group of trained men and women reported reduced body fat in the upper arm after 12 weeks of supplementation with 1.8 grams per day of CLA.6 Further research using more accurate techniques for measuring body composition is needed to confirm these findings.

      I have been taking this product as directed ( 2 pills 2 x a day) for two months now and I have actualy gained weight. Mind you, no changes in diet and i have actually been working out more. It makes me very nauseated when taken on an emty stomach and slghtly nauseated when I take it witha meal. It causes me to be hungry and sluggish. This product was a waste of my money. Note that everyone with 4-5 stars that reviewed this product, aslo began a diet and exercise regimen when starting this product.

      I had been taking CLA for a year or more after a sales person at GNC recommended it. I had also started watching my diet closely and changed up my work outs I got great results. And even if my diet slipped I could maintain my weight easily. Then in May due to some side effects from taking omeprazole for almost a year I quit taking it and the supplements I was also taking to try and get my liver back in check. After a month I started noticing my stomach getting huge and my metabolism slowing but I couldn't put my finger on what was going on. Then last night now two months after stopping CLA I was like OMG it is the CLA. I am going to get back on it immediately!

          I have been using this product for over a year now to help me to maintain my weight loss. Aside from it being a large pill I have not experienced any side effects. It has helped me to burn and keep off my weight, with regular exercise (3-6x week). I would probably suggest a person try a lower dose before going to the 2000mg just to make sure you can tolerate it.

                  I started working out at the gym in February along with sensible dieting - Suzanne Somers program works for me. Belly fat at my age (74) is and has been a major problem for me. I dropped 16 lbs. but the belly fat remained. I talked with my trainer, (he works part-time at GNC!)and he suggested CLA, but he said it takes about a month to really kick in. I've been using it since March, and I've been able to keep of the weight even tho I slip off my good eating habits now and then. The best thing about CLA is that it keeps me "regular" when dieting, since constipation often accompanies dieting. Not with CLA! I take it twice a day - 2 in the morning and 2 after supper. It's good to take it after a meal. It's helped me keep off the inches too, and I'm wearing pants and shorts that were way too tight for me last year. Keeping me 'regular" also keeps me feeling good and I seem to have a lot of energy too. Good stuff!

                    I went to my local GNC store here in Pa. on 4/18/2014. After I watched a repeat of The Dr. Oz show and he talked about the CLA supplement. I have used other supplements that he or other medical professionals mentioned on his show before.Such as the Pure Green Coffee Bean Extract and Raspberry Ketones. And it worked great for me. I went from a 182 lbs to 147 lbs. in 7 months. But I did more than just take the those supplements. I also implemented a exercise routine and started eating a more healthy diet which made all the different. Now Because I made an error and slacked off exercising and eating right I did gain a few lbs back. That was totally on me. But Since I started taking the CLA on 4/18/2014 and as of today May 2nd 2014 I have lost 9 lbs in 2 weeks. But I also started back eating healthy and exercising along with taking the CLA as directed. I have just 8lbs more to go before I'm back down to 147 lbs. Yes The CLA really does works at least for me it does. The most very important point I need to make with everyone here is no matter what supplements that you take. You have to do the work by eating right and exercising. You have to find the right supplements,healthy eating and exercise plan that works for you. Best wishes to all.

                            I'm finished with the entire bottle and I have not lost a single pound. I work out 3 to 4 times a week and these pills did not give me energy or help me lose weight. I honestly felt like I gained weight while taking this pills. It doesn't work for everyone I guess.
