All kittens should receive their mother's milk for at least 2 days, if possible. This colostrums milk gives extra nutrition and temporary immunity against some diseases. Warm milk replacer to room or body temperature. Feed kittens 2 tablespoons (30 mL) per 4 ounces (115 g) of body weight daily. Divide the daily feeding amount into equal portions for each feeding. Kittens’ needs will vary and this amount may have to be increased or decreased depending on the individual puppy. Small and/or weak kittens should be fed every 3 to 4 hours. Larger and/or older kittens can do well being fed every 8 hours. Weigh the kittens 3 times per week to assure adequate feeding. When kittens are old enough to lap, begin offering the milk replacer in a shallow container. Pregnant & Lactating Queens: Feed 2 tablespoons (30 mL) milk replacer liquid per 5 lbs. (2.2 kg) of body weight daily. Growing kittens already on solid food, show dogs and/or convalescing cats: Feed 1 tablespoon (15 mL) milk replacer liquid per 5 lbs. (2.2 kg) of body weight daily.
Warning: Shake well. Refrigerate after opening. To assure freshness, discard or freeze within 72 hours. Do not freeze in original container. Not for human consumption.
