1. Use unsweetened almond milk for part or all liquid. This is as low as 30 calories per cup and adds additional nutrition.
2. Add ice and blend vs. shaking with water.
3. Vanilla is super versatile, so you can add fruit, a bit of flavor extract (I like almond or mint), cinnamon, cocoa, coffee, or any combo that sounds good.
