Description

What is Stevia?

The Indians of Paraguay have used Stevia for centuries. Europeans first learned of Stevia when the Spanish Conquistadors of the sixteenth century sent word to Spain that the natives of South America had used the plant. Stevia is a fairly unassuming perennial shrub of the aster family (Asteraceae), native to the northern regions of South America. It is now being grown in Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Central America, the United States, Israel, Thailand and China. Great care must be taken during production of Stevia extract to produce a high quality extract. This pertains as much to extraction as it does to milling. This is the type of quality control that goes into NuNaturals' Stevia extracts.

NuStevia White Stevia Powder uses maltodextrin which is a food grade carbohydrate derived from corn. It is tasteless, so it is the perfect medium to use to use with the extract. It is added to make it easier to measure the Stevia Extract. This form is perfect for sprinkling on cereal, yogurt as well as mixing in beverages. One quarter to three quarters of a teaspoon is the recommended serving.

This is a great product. It has no after taste and is actually better tasting than sugar. It is an all natural product so it is even more appealing.

Wonderful Product
I have been a Diabetic for over 30 years, and back then all I used was chemical artificial sweeteners. I also couldn't pass up a desert table. Since I started using Stevia, I noticed I don't even think or even like sweets anymore. I have found this Stevia product to be the best..

Where is NuStevia?
I recently ordered my usual NuStevia powder, and was shipped "Isn't Life Sweet" packets instead. Is this the "exact" same product as NuStevia? It doesn't seem quite the same, or is it just my mind playing tricks on me because of the complete change in name and packaging??? Why the changes????

NuStevia - Best of the stevia products
I've done some research and buying of various stevia products and found this brand to be the best! Each packet is a little sweeter tasting than a teaspoon of sugar but the taste is very real and non-artificial. The packets are convenient.

Did the packaging of this product change?I bought the Nu Stevia at a GNC store and was told the packaging had changed but it doesn't seem the same as far as taste that is.

How come Stevie doesn't dissolve in cold beverages? It used to when I bought it before. It just sits on top of the juice and you have to stir like crazy and there are still lumps floating on the top.

BEST ANSWER: My only experience with adding Stevia to cold beverages, is adding it to iced tea with ice cubes in the top of the glass. When the stevia is poured in it hits the ice cubes and sticks to some of them but some powder makes it through into the liquid. I just keep pushing the ice cubes down in the drink and stir a bit longer:) Within a few minutes it will dissolve most of it!:) I'm not familiar with adding this to juices but perhaps there's some kind of "enzyme reaction" or something within the type of fruit juice it is, with a component of the sweetener?? Just a thought!:)
