Reformulated :(

This used to be my favorite protein powder. After it was reformulated? Absolutely disgusting. It has more "chocolate crumbles" or something as the color is now much darker. The flavor now is artificial sweetener and sadness. If you usually purchase the bulk tubs, make sure you purchase a small container to try first. Will never purchase this one again.

Favorite flavour

Tastes great mixes well into a creamy high protein breakfast. I switch it up using either 1/2 banana & 1/4 avocado (chocolate banana) or mocha or peanut butter so I don't get bored

Cookies and cream tastes bad

I wrote this review many months ago. Im not sure why they didnt post it. They changed the formula for cookies and cream. New is awful.

I don't want to drink desert

Idk what they did but they changed the formula for these. The new flavoring is way too sweet and makes me throw up.

Should have done more research

This is my own fault, I should have read the description more thoroughly instead of assuming since it was GNC that it was the same as my old GNC protein powder. Definitely can't use this as my system can't handle dairy.

Vanilla Tastes Horrible

Got the vanilla cream. This has a horrible aftertaste. I'm really disappointed. It's so bad I almost am debating on dumping it all, but I bought two jumbo tubs.. ugh

I had a problem getting it to mix in my shaker bottle. I bought a bullet blender and it mixes perfectly and is a tasty morning protein mix that is easy to drink and fulfilling for breakfast.

100% whey vanilla

Tastes great, mixes well with h2o and milk. Need to do something with the scoop its always buried.

Now it tastes weird

I've been using this product for years and loved it! But they must have changed the formula because it does not taste the same. I do not care for it anymore and I'm considering switching to a different product.

Great taste and easy way to get in the protein! I like to add in either peanut butter powder, peppermint extract or coffee to change it up.

Cookies & Cream flavor has changed

Recieved my order quickly and in perfect condition. The Cookies and Cream flavor used to be light colored and tasted of an oreo type cookie, but this batch was considerably darker cocoa colored and had a much heavier chocolate taste. Not sure if they changed the flavor recipe or I received chocolate with the wrong label.

Terrible taste

Tastes terrible now. I really enjoyed the previous chocolate flavor of this product, I'm no sure what exactly has changed ingredient wise but now it tastes horrible. It's a shame too after trying different flavors of protein over the years and different brands I always felt like chocolate was the safe bet. I guess not.

Love the product. Love the BOGO offer. Hate that GNC raised the price. Hate even more, that even though they raised the price, they made the containers smaller, effectively an additional price increase.

They changed the ingredients

Tastes terrible now (September 2025). New fake chemical/sand flavor. Used to be good and creamy. My annual purchase of this is ended. Most of the star reviews are from before the ingredients changed.

I bought another brand and it was very chalky. This one I bought vanilla flavor, I mix it with chocolate almond milk and 4 or 5 ice cubes and it tastes like a chocolate milk shake.

I bought two 4lb tubs of Chocolate Supreme as part of a promotion. Pro: It was cheap. Cons: The taste is pretty bad. I have to force myself to swallow it. I've tried mixing it with water, oat milk, and regular milk, but it's still bad. It's also hard to mix. I'd recommend checking out other protein powder or flavor.

Found myself having to gulp my shake down as fast as I could when adding this to anything. Has a weird taste and even odder smell, personally don't recommend the unflavored variety.

Very good flavor, simple and not grainy. For someone who doesn't like chocolate, this is an amazing alternative. I even add it to plain water on occasion without issues or difficulty.

I just received 8 lbs a week an ago and honestly it's tasty! I mix the chocolate w 1% milk (or almond) frozen banana and scoop pb2 (2 tbsp). Also it is very filling but had it only w milk so far fyi. W other drinks almond usually holds up roughly just a little less than milk imo. Lastly I'm using it as a total meal w milk if it's just for added protein in between I'd most likely just do almond and the mix only nothing else. lol not sure if my life story was necessary but point is it's good and buy 1 get 1 1/2 off was a steal and then minus 30 of any over 130 was nuts great sale!

New formula is NOT better!

For years, this was my protein supplement of choice, particularly the Chocolate Supreme. When mixed quite thick, it tasted just like chocolate pudding. But this is no more. The new 2.0 version is an overly sweet flavor that I cannot quite pinpoint, but it certainly does not taste like chocolate. The Vanilla Cream flavor has a similar overly sweet flavor, but at least it has some vanilla coming through. In both cases, the new formula does not mix as well with water as the original. Please
