Choose a high-quality creatine by prioritizing purity (a straightforward creatine form and minimal extras), mixability (powder texture and how you prepare it), and tolerance (dose size, timing, and avoiding common triggers). Creatine monohydrate is the most established option in sports nutrition, so it’s a smart baseline when comparing labels.
Start with the ingredient panel. The cleanest options typically keep the formula tight—especially if you prefer to control flavor and add-ons separately. If you see a product positioned as “rigorously third-party tested,” that’s a meaningful quality signal (for example, GNC Pro Performance® Creatine Soft Chews note third-party testing for purity and potency). When a formula blends multiple actives, make sure you actually want the extras—not just the marketing.
Creatine works best when you can take it consistently. A practical approach is 3–5 g per day. If you’re sensitive to larger single servings, try splitting the total into smaller doses and taking it with meals and plenty of fluids. If chewables or flavored options don’t sit well for you, look for simpler ingredient lists and avoid products with lots of sweeteners, sugar alcohols, or heavy flavor systems. Also watch for stacked formulas that include other performance ingredients if you’re trying to keep things gentle.
Powders vary in how they dissolve. Micronized creatine monohydrate (smaller particle size) generally mixes more smoothly than coarse powders, and warm water can help reduce grit. A shaker bottle can improve dispersion, but even a spoon works if you add liquid first, then powder, and stir thoroughly. If you want maximum flexibility, an unflavored powder is often easiest to blend into water or a simple beverage without adding extra ingredients.
Creatine is one of the most researched sports supplements, trusted for helping muscles work harder during training and supporting strength and muscle-building goals over time. If your focus is performance, the biggest “benefit lever” is still the same: take the right daily amount consistently, then let your training do the rest.
Some products include ingredients positioned to support uptake (for example, AstraGin® appears in BEYOND RAW® Creatine MonoPhate and Animal Creatine Chews). These may be appealing, but they’re not required to get value from creatine. If you’re deciding between options, prioritize the creatine form, the daily dose you’ll actually take, and a formula you tolerate—then consider add-ons as optional, not essential.
If you’re new to creatine—or restarting—aim for 3–5 g per day. If you notice discomfort with larger single servings, split the daily total into smaller portions and take it with meals and adequate fluids. If you’re sensitive to sweeteners, be cautious with chewables or strongly flavored options that may use sugar alcohols or multiple additives. If you also use pre-workouts, consider keeping creatine separate so you can better identify what your body responds to.
Big goals are built on daily habits—and the right creatine should make that habit easier, not more complicated. GNC is here to help you choose with confidence by focusing on what matters: clear labels, quality signals like third-party testing when stated, and options that fit different routines—from no-mix chews to powders and advanced stacks.
Whether you want a straightforward creatine monohydrate approach or a formula that combines creatine with additional performance ingredients, you can compare formats and make an intentional choice based on purity, mixability, and how you feel taking it. When questions come up, GNC’s long-standing focus on wellness and performance nutrition keeps the guidance practical and grounded—so you can stay consistent and keep moving forward.
GNC is the fuel you need to rise to the challenge.

keep coming back
love this stuff
I've tried dozens of whey protein powders throughout the years and this one, specifically the Rocky Road flavored one is the absolute best of all time.
This is the only protein I'll buy, it mixes in smooth and tastes like a vanilla milkshake, it also makes a delicious iced coffee when you mix it with a shot of espresso.
Good service
Easy on the stomach and still tastes good when mixing other fruits or vegetables.
It's a very good tasting product out there. It don't have no order official flavors that like other places have.
This product mixes pretty well--better in a shaker than in a glass with a spoon, of course--but since it is about 1/3rd micellar casein, there is a little more clumping and thickness than the more standard JYM protein powders.
The best part is that the taste is better than any other vanilla flavored powder I have ever tried! I have preferred chocolate flavored products, but I have been looking to severely reducing my chocolate consumption (which includes anything with alkalai processed cocoa) due to recent news about the problems with lead and cadmium in chocolate products due to the soil in which cocoa plants are grown and the processing of the cocoa beans themselves; therefore, I am glad to have found a new go-to product.
The only suggestion I have is to reduce the amount of sweetener in the product by 10 to 15 percent.
I will definitely re-order!
The Tahitian vanilla bean is still my favorite. Mixes well with fruit smoothies and is delicious as a standalone drink. I've always noticed results significantly faster while supplementing 2 to 3 protein shakes per day at two scoops each. I look forward to each one experientially and never experience digestive issues.
If you like strawberry milk this taste really good
Love the flavor and the clarity on the label with regards to the nutrition.
Great taste but does not dissolve easily.
Delicious, mixes easy, solid value.
My favorite protein and flavor. My lifts increased steadily when supplementing with this protein. Good flavor I blend with just ice and water. No side effects. Digests easily.
Good flavor and a well-balanced protein blend. I wish that it came in a tub. My city doesn't recycle the packaging bag.
Definitely helps with Muscle recovery. It mixes well for a treat or just to get in extra protein. It helps feel better with muscle soreness. Best on the market.
Wow, just wow! Again such amazing replacement for what I was using at GNC. I love the little bits of cookie in the cookie crunch, and the marshmallows in the rocky road. The only gripe I do have is the packaging there's just so much extra packaging especially after the product has settled. I'm not sure what could be done differently but I do believe it's something marketing or the product design team needs to look into. Outside of that I have no other complaints. I use this as my last me of the day to kick off my daily fast and it gets me over that first hump when in the past I would get incredibly "hangry" and go in search of something and break my fast.
Great taste! One of my favorites!
Tasty and low in cholesterol. Isolate, not concentrate, high quality blend.
Outstanding!
I take before and after morning workouts and love the flavors. Helps me reach my protein goals
Great taste. I mix it with almond milk and it dissolves without lumps. Best of all, it satisfies snack pangs with pure protein and without that bloated, heavy feeling.
One of the few brands of protein powder that actually tastes good and mixes well over the past year i have been eating an overnight oats variant every single day that requires jym in order to actually taste good a scoop of rocky road flavor powder, 66g of peanut butter, 1cup of whole milk, blended in my nutribullet and poured over 80g of old fasioned oats that is then refrigerated for an hour before consumption, resulting in 2c of oatmeal that tastes like a no bake cookie and has 1000calories 58g protein, 51g fat and 103g complex carbs. that recipe is a staple of my diet and vital for me to hit my macro goals all for about 2. 53 per serving using name brand products
Yup
Really love the product!
I love the taste of this protein shake!!
Especially the little cookie crunchy's!!!
I put it in the fridge with ice for hours and enjoy a shake like ice cream consistency!!!
Try it, you'll love it!!!
Really ?? tasty!
Glad this one was brought back as it's my son and I's favorite go-to protein flavor. Tastes great on its own with water or milk and even more so with fruit-blended shakes. Thanks for bringing it back, JYM team
Love the flavor and crunchiness of the cookies
Great taste, no fillers. Awesome whey protein blend.
