Whey protein isolate is commonly described as a more purified form of whey protein. In simple terms, isolate is often processed to increase the proportion of protein in the finished powder. Regular whey often refers to whey protein concentrate. For shoppers comparing labels, that makes the ingredient list one of the easiest places to start.
Gold Standard 100% Whey™ - Double Rich Chocolate (74 Servings) lists whey protein isolates as the main ingredient and also includes premium ultra-filtered whey protein concentrate. Each serving delivers 24 grams of protein in a 32 gram serving, which equals 82% protein by weight. That gives you a clear example of a formula built around isolate while still using a broader whey blend.
This powder is designed to support muscle building needs after training. It also provides more than 5 grams of naturally occurring branched chain amino acids and over 4 grams of naturally occurring glutamine and glutamic acid in every serving. For everyday use, it has been instantized to mix easily in a shaker cup or with a glass and spoon. If your goal is to understand the category, the key takeaway is simple: isolate-led formulas put whey protein isolate first, while regular whey products are often centered more heavily on whey protein concentrate.
When comparing whey types, the first thing to look at is the protein source listed on the label. A formula centered on whey protein isolate signals a more purified whey input. A formula built mainly around whey protein concentrate is often considered a more traditional whey option. One key difference is how the protein is sourced and processed.
Gold Standard 100% Whey™ - Double Rich Chocolate (74 Servings) combines whey protein isolate microfractions with ultra-filtered whey protein concentrate rather than relying on a single whey source alone. For shoppers trying to understand the category, that means you are getting a formula led by isolate with a broader whey protein blend to support muscle building needs after training.
The best choice starts with your priorities. If you want a formula that emphasizes protein purity, check whether whey protein isolates are featured first. If you want a simple way to support your training routine, also look at how much protein you get per serving and whether the powder fits easily into your day.
For anyone narrowing the choice between isolate-focused formulas and regular whey options, Gold Standard 100% Whey™ - Double Rich Chocolate (74 Servings) offers a practical middle ground: whey protein isolates as the primary ingredient, 24 grams of protein per serving, and instantized mixability for quick preparation. That makes it a strong fit for people who want clarity on the label and a straightforward protein routine after training.
This guide is designed to help you shop with confidence by focusing on ingredient details and product information that can help you compare options. When you are comparing whey types, clear label details can make the decision easier.
Gold Standard 100% Whey™ - Double Rich Chocolate (74 Servings) brings that clarity to the category with whey protein isolates as the primary ingredient, 24 grams of protein per serving, and naturally occurring amino acids commonly included in whey protein formulas. The instantized powder also mixes easily, whether you use a shaker cup or a glass and spoon.
Clear product details can help you cut through the noise and stay focused on what supports your routine. With a straightforward formula and easy everyday use, this is a simple way to keep building momentum one serving and one workout at a time.
The True Strength of Whey
Whey Protein Isolates (WPIs) are the purest form of whey protein that currently exists. WPIs are costly to use, but rate among the best proteins that money can buy. That's why they're the first ingredient you read on the Gold Standard 100% Whey™ label. By using WPI as the primary ingredient along with premium ultra-filtered whey protein concentrate (WPC), we're able to pack 24 grams of protein into every serving to support your muscle building needs after training. ON's attention to detail also extends to mixability. This superior quality powder has been instantized to mix easliy using a shaker cup or just a glass and spoon. There's no doubt that this is the standard by which all other whey proteins are measured.
Beyond the Basics:
Taste great easy mixture
Exactly what I needed, fantastic taste. Delivery was on time, and I got a discount. Will continue purchasing protein from your establishment. Thank you??
Taste really good. No grainy texture
Doesn't clump up like other protein powders.
I love ON protein. It's tasty and easy to mix. Strawberry is one of my favorites.
Delicious flavors and blends super smooth. Has been my go to for a long time
My trainer recommended this and I really like it. I love that I can add it to my morning coffee (after letting it cool just a bit) and start my day with some clean, good tasting, not fake-sweet protein. My favorite is the double rich chocolate but I am keen to try the vanilla too. It dissolves easily in milk without a blender and is the least fake-sugar tasting protein I've tried. Well done.
I love the taste of this protein powder as opposed to many others I have tried.
Is my gooooo tooooo!
Mixed great and tastes great! Great price too!
Very good flavor. Do not have the strong aspartame taste like extreme chocolate milk flavor

Great taste!!
Highly recommended!
Very good. Having buying this for years.
I like this flavor. Mix pretty easily overall. I drink it with low fat milk to add a little more protein. Would recommend this brand. Now I want to try other flavors.
Great taste
I have been using Gold Standard Whey protein powder on and off for years now? I recently turned 68 and wanted to step up my health regiment another notch. I subscribed to the GNC refill program to have the protein powder shipped to me on a consistent basis as to have more of a commitment to keeping on track.. I mix it with almond milk as well as my smoothies.. On occasion after run / walking I mix it with filtered water.. It mixes very well with water but I prefer the almond milk overall. It's a great meal alternative.
Yummmmmmmmmmmmy
