In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Stir in onions and salt. Cook until the onion softens. Add the split peas and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer until the peas are cooked (~45 minutes). Stir in lemon juice, paprika and soy protein and stir well. Put soup in a food processor and pulse until well blended. Serve hot.
