Can you detach the metal ball and the stick from the lid?

BEST ANSWER: Actually, there is no metal ball - instead, there's a metal wire spring that slides over the stick inside (same material as the balls are made of), and when you shake the bottle the spring moves up and down and mixes the contents. But yes, you absolutely can remove the stick and spring from the lid and get everything clean. I own several of these shaker bottles and they mix my shakes better and quieter than the ball kind - plus, no ball to lose!
Can this be used with hot liquids or only cold?

BEST ANSWER: I wouldn’t use it for hot liquids mostly because it is a thin plastic and you’ll end up burning yourself from the heat. But I don’t see why you can’t use it for warm beverages.
