I've cut out dairy completely (to clear my acne) and its tough to get enough protein in my diet. I relied on greek yogurt and whey protein shakes, however since I've gone cold turkey its been a challenge. A lot of name brand "dairy free" protein drinks are not completely dairy free (milk protein isolate, etc.). Even soy can mess with a girls hormones so that was out of the question. After comparing many different powders I went with this one. Yes, it does not taste pleasant- It's earthy and grainy, but you can get used to the taste (I have no choice lol). Before buying you can try a pre-made pea protein shake to see if the taste could be for you (competitor stores carry them in store). I'm conscious about my sugar intake, so letting myself go on 12 oz of chocolate cashew milk mixed with it helps with the taste. I am partial to cashew milk, for the taste, so mixing it in with vanilla or unsweetened nut milk with fruit helps mask the flavor as well. It blends in a shaker bottle very well. Overall I highly recommend. Will definitely buy again.

Needs Creativity, but great clean protein!
It's terrible tasting alone (like drywall), but if you add it to a shake with some frozen fruit, ground flax seed, almond flour and spinach (or other greens), it's good! I prefer to make shakes with all of that to maximize my fiber, carb and protein intake, but it's not for everyone looking for a quick shake on the run.

I have tried many protein powder and this is one of the cleanest ones. If you are trying to lose weight and cut calories this is a good avenue to try. At first the taste can be hard to get use to but after a few times your good to go. I usually mix it with almond milk, yogurt, frozen fruit and one scoop of pea protein. I mix it with a food processor comes out thick, keeps me full for 5 hours. Great product!

Unpalatable
I could not even swallow one sip. And my son used it and it gave him stomach cramps. GNC was great and accepted the return, no questions.

Bad smell, chalky, but blends well!
Exactly what you'd expect of an unflavored plant-based protein. The smell just from opening the container made me scared to taste this powder. I blended it with fruit, and it remained gritty, as well as the unflavored "flavor" being present. This flavor is also stuck in your mouth for a good half hour... With the amount of stevia I added in an attempt to cover the chalky, unpleasant flavor, I may as well purchase a flavored protein powder. If having no sweeteners, dyes, etc. matters more to you than flavor, this product is perfect.

Not bad!
I've been looking for a protein powder that has no sweeteners of any kind in it and this is the only one I could find. It's not that bad of a taste, either. Works for me!

I love this protein powder and I've been using it for sometime now. My only issue with this protein powder is the amount of sodium. I would like to have something with less sodium. I've tried the natural Vega One as a alternative to this but found it to be too sweet. I don't like the flavored powders because I mix it with different things such as almond milk, coconut milk, or coconut water. I prefer the unflavored protein powders. It's hard to find unflavored powders which are vegan as well. I have allergies to the protein casein, dairy, and soy.
