A shopper on Oct 14, 2016

Is this product gluten free?
Stepanka R on Feb 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I think so, Stepanka. According to the label, it contains only taurine, cellulose, and dicalcium phosphate. The cellulose could conceivably come from plant material that also contains gluten, but probably not. I actually give this taurine supplement to a couple of my cats that require a cooked meat diet. For cats, taurine is an essential nutrient. They are sensitive animals, prone to dietary intolerances, but they have had no problems with this supplement.

Is taurine used to help you sleep.?
Linda R on May 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No, taurine is not for sleep. From the Mayo Clinic: "Taurine, an amino acid important in several of the body's metabolic processes, is thought to have antioxidant properties. But little is known about the effects of long-term supplemental taurine use. Taurine is found naturally in meat, fish, dairy products and human milk, and it's also available as a dietary supplement." It particularly supports the liver.
