Vanilla ice cream is just...okay.
There are benefits and drawbacks to the Gold Standard Whey Vanilla Ice Cream flavored Gainer. On the plus side, it can be purchased at a decent value. I bought a 5 lb bag and it seemed like the cost-per-serving was less than the other brands. It also has a ton of calories in a single scoop, which is nice for those days I need to supplement my calories with minimal effort.

Now for the drawbacks. I use a blender bottle because it is less of a hassle than using a blender. One thing that you should be made aware of is that it TAKES A LOT OF EFFORT TO MIX SMOOTHLY. You need to vigorously shake for at least a full minute in order for it to blend in a single scoop into a full size blender bottle filled to the top with water. I also own two blender bottles. One is a traditional wide style blender bottle, in which the gainer mixed without lumps...eventually. I also own a more slender version with a slightly different lid and a rubber grip on the side. For whatever reason, this gainer can't mix in this bottle at all, no matter how long I shook the bottle. The texture was like drinking luke warm wet cottage cheese.

The vanilla cream taste is accurate, however it kind of has a chalky aftertaste that is off-putting. Not the worst flavor I've ever had (looking at you, strawberry cream), but you've got to be a big fan of vanilla things to get a 10lb bag of this. I plan to get chocolate from now on.

Get this!!!
The colossal chocolate has a great taste and I like it. One scoop is perfect if you aren't looking to put on a lot of weight. Every time I have taken it, I feel a lot better and a lot less fatigued.

DO NOT BUY
I don't think that I have ever had a worse protein powder in my life. The vanilla flavor is the worst tasting thing I have ever tried. I don't mean to be dramatic, but it's true. You have to shake it up a very long time in order to get a drink with no chunks in it. How am I supposed to gain weight and muscle if this tastes so bad? Highly recommend you do not buy.
