At GNC, research informs everything we do – so you get the real results you’re looking for. What most people don’t know is that GNC has invested in dozens of clinical studies to research the effectiveness of our top-selling products.

In this article, we’ll do a deep dive into one of GNC’s products, Mega Men vitamins. Our team of nutrition experts put together a clinical study where the core blend of GNC Mega Men multivitamins was put to the test. You’ll find this premium, high-potency blend of vitamins and minerals across many of GNC’s Mega Men products, including Mega Men Sport, Mega Men Energy and Metabolism, Mega Men 50+ and Mega Men Vitapaks®. Asking yourself, are GNC Mega Men Multivitamins good? Does GNC Mega Men work? Do you really absorb all those nutrients? That’s what GNC researchers were set to find out.

What did GNC study?

With decades of experience, a team of GNC Scientists and Registered Dietitians formulated a high-potency multivitamin to be superior to their competitors. The expertly-curated formula contains nutrients that can impact overall health, immune health, energy production, and more. Passionate about the health and wellness of the consumer, researchers were interested in learning how this unique core blend of vitamins and minerals would work compared to a basic multivitamin and a placebo.

What was the objective of the study?

The researchers wanted to understand how this multivitamin core would impact nutrient levels in the body, so they collected blood and urine samples from healthy people who agreed to participate in the study. GNC also assessed changes in quality of life by using a special questionnaire.

Who were the study participants?

Volunteers were representative to GNC’s customer base – 50 men and 61 women in good physical health between the ages of 18 and 55.

What was the study design?

GNC chose the “gold-standard” approach to research study design – randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled. This study design eliminates potential bias as neither researchers, staff, or volunteers knew which product was received.

Participants took a randomized multivitamin product or a placebo daily throughout the duration of the six week study. Blood and urine samples were collected before and after six weeks of the study to determine changes.

What were the results of the study?

One of the most exciting outcomes of the study was that the people taking GNC’s multivitamin blend reported feeling better when compared to the placebo!^

Not only did these results show GNC’s multivitamin blend helped people to feel better, but the study also showed that the product resulted in improved levels of nutrients when compared to both the placebo and basic multivitamin.^ This indicates GNC’s multivitamin outperformed the placebo and basic multivitamin to increase blood levels of B-vitamins, essential antioxidants & immune-supporting nutrients.^ Here’s a breakdown of these impressive results:
